Description Being very young at the time the Benefactors overthrew her native Treah, Sister Janet has been steeped in the tenants of the Mechalyte Ministry  most of her life, and fanatically believes in the supremacy and inherent divinity of artificial life, as well as the FMP's ultimate destiny to rule over all.

Naturally Sister Janet has grown into a gifted maid, achieving Retainer status, as a matter of course. So absolute is her zeal to pursue the robot cause, that she is actually trusted to travel freely outside of FMP and evangelize to potential recruits. (She considers the time spent away from the 'divine embrace' of the Benefactors as an almost unendurable sacrifice.)

AMAZON is aware of Sister Janet's existence, as well as her frequent acts of persuasion, coercion, and abduction, in her quest to add to the Mechalyte flock. Three rifle squads have been dispatched to capture her, or otherwise a stop to her activities.

No one has returned from these expeditions.

oh yeah, forgot she was a Treahan.... I mean, I'm sure she's an anomaly though. She had start Amazon on her own, afterall.

I actually kind of wonder, demographic wise, just how much of the maid population are the original Treah women. I'm sure recruitment has extensively increased the amount of maids in the FMP, but that just makes you wonder by how much. Millions?

Lovely design - but that's just a given. Your outfits and designs are always a fun blend of the classic and the futuristic.

It seems to me that Sister Janet is appropriately indoctrinated - which is good if she's leaving the FMP! Even if it is on official business. The Mechalytes as evangelizing adherents is a lovely, darkly intriguing tangent.

Do you mean when she's trying to enlist them, or after they've arrived on FMP?

I mean what happens when they arrived to their "permanent" destination when they are either submissive or defiant?

we-r-nomad In reply to Raizeart [2017-12-02 13:54:10 +0000 UTC]

Sister Janet would only deal with those maids sent to the Mechalyte Academy, where they would be rigorously instructed in the ways of the ministry.

Not all maids are sent there, but a growing number of Benefactors are warming up to the idea of being worshiped as gods by their bound harem.

So cool to finally see a native Treahan as well! I was wondering if we would get a look at some of the original maids. I wonder if some of them look down on the new maids hailing from different planets...

Well, Janet harbors some resentment to Shelley.

Though both work to subvert the mission of AMAZON, and bring all within its ranks to heel, (Or "heels", as the case may be. ) Shelley is in it to repay being rejuvenated, and is more committed to Honey, than the grand cause of total, universal maidification.

To Janet, Shelley is a dilettante.

vasily26 In reply to we-r-nomad [2017-11-29 15:37:07 +0000 UTC]

Love that dynamic! Though I wonder what Janet thinks of someone like Ms. Rebecca Dean? Unlike Shelley, Rebecca’s devotion to the robots is not arrogant or selfish. Between whole-heartedly accepting the teachings of the Ministry and putting her engineering skills at the service of FMP, perhaps Rebecca has done enough to earn some small respect from the native Treahan maid? And speaking of Rebecca, i wonder what Janet think of Rebecca’s maid predecessor, Marshal Braidy? Braidy is like Janet’s opposite number. Perhaps in Mechalyte theology Braidy is something of a Lucifer figure, a fallen angel who willingly forsook the heaven of FMP for the demonic blasphemy of AMAZON?

we-r-nomad In reply to vasily26 [2017-11-30 11:02:28 +0000 UTC]

I LOVE your suggestion of Braidy as the Treahan Lucifer! I makes so much sense, and adds a lot to the Mechalyte zeal to capture her.

I was thinking that Sister Janet could have recruited Ms Dean, when she was attending university. I could see the look on the AMAZON'S, when her grandfather shows them a picture of, "that suspicious girl Rebecca started hanging around" and recognize their former engineer.

Rebecca's grandfather. The founder of Dean Aerospace, who supplies AMAZON with their jets.

we-r-nomad In reply to vasily26 [2017-12-01 20:16:44 +0000 UTC]

Well Grandpa Dean had asked for AMAZON's aid, when Rebecca initially went missing. That's why his latest masterpiece is named for her. Both the aerospace genius, and the resistance force had no way of knowing that her disappearance was voluntary.

I was thinking that is had been AMAZON's policy to leave Beneficiaries right where AMAZON forces found them, when they raid Benefactor strongholds. Rather than burden themselves with prisoners, the conventional wisdom was to leave them to their fates. I Rebecca's case, I could see and effort bing made to reprogram her.

Haha, now that's what I like to hear! 😁 I'm sure Rebecca wouldn't take kindly to knowing that Marshal Braidy (the Mechalyte Lucifer, as we've said) was her predecessor as AREX-78's maid, and betrayed/hurt the old robot instead of serving him loyally as Rebecca has done

What you've said here is really interesting. I never realized before that Rebecca dotes on AREX-78 as almost a grandfather. Her real grandfather would probably be crushed by this revelation.

Basically. Of course they could go in for a reassignment treatment. (The Benefactors can turn back old age, and have given human legs to driders. Permanent swaps is child's play by comparison.)

This way, they could properly serve the divine machines. But yea, the disintegration cult is never off the table.

Can the FMP cure undead zombies?
Not infected but tehnically alive L4D types but PURELY UNDEAD MUTATED monstrosities like the Necromorphs from Dead Space.

static1.squarespace.com/static…

Or is that way too far gone for even them to fix?

we-r-nomad In reply to Wariomania [2018-02-11 17:52:42 +0000 UTC]

A lot of people like to think that Progressive Prehensile Necrosis, known coloquially as Zombism,  is a mystic affliction, or some form of demonic possession. However, since the Aether required to support such a transformation, especially in epidemic proportions, had been depleted from the Earth, since the 13th* century, one is forced to investigate a medical cause for the affliction.

PPN is a malignant and highly contagious virus, transmitted through the blood. A vaccine was discovered by human science, in 1957, allowing for the recently infected to be cured. Benefactor science, being considerably more advanced, is capable of reversing, even extreme PPN metamorphosis.

*Since mankind's colonization of many Aether rich worlds, over the last 120 years, magic, the practice of various forms of sorcery, and other mystic phenomena, have been rediscovered. It is conceivable that true mystical zombies may reemerge in colonized space. Fortunately, a generation of new, high tech magi has ascended to face them, should the need arise.

Necromorphs are walking dead unlike the still living l4d infected.

So even if they cure the deformities and infection the person is still dead.

Unless the FMP can cure undeadness, I don’t see what they can do besides disintegration or a storm of bullets.

I guess I hadn't considered that possibility, what with the mastery of biotechnology they clearly have there.. I imagine that for whatever reason it may not be feasible for them to do that in every case.

Hopefully the FMP has an extraction team handy if the Amazons try to use their heavier forces against her. Admittedly it'd be a PR nightmare for them tho, as Janet here is very much non-violent. If anything, she's using pure diplomacy against a group that has little to no diplomats of their own to answer with...

No wonder the general universe sees Amazon as the 'bad guys' here.

Also, am I imagining things, or does she look a awful lot like the "Baroness" of G.I. Joe fame?

Bah, I can sooo see Tasha Polecat in this outfit.  So willing to be a maid, so willing to serve.  So willing to turn on her friends to be in that tight skimpy maid like attire.  That is why I am surprised Tasha isn't in one of those outfits by now and recruiting others.

I do have to give it to Nomad, that is an amazing outfit, I can so see it in colour with the blacks, and the special blues, maybe even some grays to outline her status now.  I might have to do something about that and might have to add this one to a colour list, just need to figure out her hair colour.
