Description Yeah. So in my Visual Art course, there is a subject the uni likes to call 'Visual Inquiry', which teaches us how to waste time. This is annoying, because I came to uni to study life drawing, not to fool round with Abstract scribbles. Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoy looking at the work of Abstractionists who are passionate about what they do, but I do not think I should be forced to do it myself any more than I should be forced to eat my classmates.

And so I spend much of Visual Inquiry drawing Oogie Boogie instead. This one was done with oil pastels and a big black marker... and originally belongs to Tim Burton obviously.

Sorry I haven't put up any paintings in ages, but that is my uni's fault not mine.

Oooh I love the sort of simpler style in this. If that makes any sense. The lineart is so bold and really stands out. Actually the whole image is really bold, it's different to the stuff you usually upload (in my opinion anyways), not so many teeny tiny details. I like your usual stuff of course, just it's interesting to see artists do something different once in a while. And oogie's such a likeable character xD I really love his expression here, and how the expression isn't relying on the face but the whole body. Also I really like the contrast of the black lines on the bright green and yellow, and how a lot of the shading is done with squiggles.

Good luck with Uni D: First semester ends soon for you, too, right?

Hello! Yes, today was actually my last day of classes... which is cool, BUT I have an essay due tomorrow, and then something else due next Thursday, and then something ELSE the Monday after that... Hmmm, I'm actually considering not bothering with the essay, coz I'm sooo tired and I can probably pass that subject without doing it... it's a stupid theory class.

And yeah, I shade with squiggles more and more these days because it's quicker! So it's a good thing that they also look nice. I'm probably not going to be painting quite so detailed anymore, because I think it detracts quite a lot from how eye-catching they could be. Less is more, basically.

And you might finally see some jackalopes if you look here tomorrow-ish!
