Description
All I want is a closed door,
No trap, nor fall, harm nor foul,
Not a lock to make it forever yet a
simple gesture, a more basic fit.
The dark is no longer mysterious, yet a shrouded serenity,
a temporary velvet curtain lined in black satin.
Blue marbles resting gentley in the centre
with nothing to orbit, no gravitational pull to hold the sway.
The cry of the wild outside bays,
but I left the ravenous wolf at the door,
leaving the raven at its head to inspire.
A chink of light, a knock, do I open my door,
let you in?
The light a welcome comfort, familiar warmth,
but it can burn, that light.
So I am suddenly so overexposed
and I wonder, will that door ever close?
