What a creative title!I've had this sketched for about half a year, but only finished it recently.
Howl: awesome Ghibli character or awesomest Ghibli character? You tell me.

Haha, the whole book thing threw me for a loop, too. I need to get them from amazon.com. There's apparently a sequel as well called Castle in the Sky. Didn't realize he'd made an anime movie out of that one, too. Even if Howl and Sophie aren't in it, or so I've heard.

Howl isn't a Ghibli character at all though. XD Howl is actually a character from Diana Wynne Jone's books and Ghibli took the -general- idea from the book and made a movie out of it.
Not sure if you knew that or not. But it's a great picture! If you haven't read the book you definetely should. It's wonderful.

I'd like to be able to answer that question, but I actually have yet to see this film. :'o I want to buy the DVD, but my wallet is telling me that Harvest Moon: Rune Factory is more important. XD Anyway nice illustration. I especially like Howl's expression.

Harvest Moon! I remember trying to play a really early version of it back when I had a Gameboy Advance emulator - I remember it being really fun until my software crashed. XD

Yeah Harvest Moon is loads of fun, especially the versions where you actually get to be a girl and court men, LOL. XD I'd recommend Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, if you are interested in the Harvest Moon games. It came out for the Gamecube a year or so ago, so I'm sure it could be had for cheap.

Howl wasn't as hot in the book as he was in the movie. :/ In the book he was so much more selfish and annoying.

And yes, the movie was actually based on a non-manga book called Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones...not many people know about the book, but it's actually very good. If you liked the movie, I would recommend it...except don't assume anything about the plot because it's completely different. >_>;
