Description The one with the endless piebald side. Every sad thought, memory, feeling you've ever had, he is made of that. When he takes his meal, that person becomes a part of him, forever screaming, made into part of him but never completely dying.

In other words, he is all the bad gunky incarnate.

...

Don't worry folks, I'm not losing my head. Just reading Stephen King's 'Lisey's Story'.

I may have made him slightly more worm-like than is described in the book, some of my own inner 'gunk seeping through into this interpretation.

I haven't read the story but this is very unsettling for some reason. Nice!

Thanks!

I originally pictured this thing as having one giant, black eyeball in the middle of the "face" instead of two. Couldn't quite seem to get it to look right though.

Interesting take on that big old bastard. And good on you for including trees to show off its immenseness. I was to lazy to include trees lol

Thanks! I kept picturing him as having one big eye in the middle of the "face" instead of two, and in retrospect that would have looked a lot creepier. I'll probably draw him like sometime!

It would be different looking. Perhaps the face being all on one side like a flounder?

God that was a good book. The best Steven King book I've ever read. And that Longboy critter scared the ever living CRAP out of me. You did an awesome job.

Looking at this made me curious, so I found Lisey’s Story online and read the description of the Long Boy. It makes me wonder whether Stephen King was inspired by the dementors in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. They’re introduced in the third book of the series, which came out around seven years before Lisey’s story, and the way they’re portrayed in their respective stories is pretty similar to one another.

I hope you’re going to read those books eventually.

I see a vague resemblance at best (conceptual, not physical obviously), and this thing is definitely more psychologically disturbing in my humblest of opinions.

Have you read the books yet? I was referring to the way the dementors are described in the books, not what they’re like in the movies.

They’re much more similar to this in the books. The books go into a lot of detail about how anyone who comes near them slowly has the happiness sucked out of them, and I think the physical descriptions of them are a lot more eerie than can be reproduced by the movies’ special effects. (Although the third movie still did a better job with this than I’d expected.) The third book also describe what one of their faces looks like when it removes its cloth hood in preparation to consume someone’s soul, but the movie completely leaves that out.

Haven't read Stephen King in a long time, I will look for that book. He seems to be a terrifying creature.

It's a very psychological book. You might just like it.
