Description Bobby Hill is about to have a close encounter of the third kind.

...But seriously, folks. One of the biggest monsters-in-the-closet type traumas of my childhood was aliens. Many a nightmare was born as a result of being allowed to watch "Communion" at a very young age. I remember quite vividly one in particular, where I never actually saw my tormentor, but felt its presence as it hovered over my bed. It made horrible, inhuman, insectile buzzing sounds at a very rapid pace, and seemed to be trying to communicate with me. I was so paralyzed with fear that I couldn't turn to see what was there, but knew nonetheless.

Haha, I thought of Bobby Hill before I even scrolled down to read your description. But yeah this was my worst nightmare as a child. Thankfully I never saw Communion (had I seen THAT SCENE as a kid I would have literally died) but even the friendly babby aliens from Close Encounters fucked me up. Seriously fuck aliens.

It's funny because the person in bed wasn't meant to be anyone in particular, he just ended up looking like Bobby Hill seen from part way behind.

The tall skinny alien from Close Encounters was kinda scary. I didn't know if I wanted to hug him or run away screaming into the night.

I had a nightmare very similar to this after watching the X-files episode with the mushrooms, I was in my room in the dark and the hall light was on, and I went out and found an alien crouched in the hall in a fetal position, gently bobbing its head with half-closed eyes. My obsessions haunt my dreams!
