The horrible, horrible worm lizard pit.Ah, the noble amphisbaean. Most phallic of all God's creatures.
I've had a bit of a morbid fascination with these subterranean reptiles ever since I saw a photo of one in a book, but somehow never got around to drawing them. Whoever said snakes were phallic clearly never got a glance at one of these animals!
Shown here are the Florida worm lizard, Rhineura floridana, and the white-bellied worm lizard, Amphisbaena alba.

This really did come out good. It certainly does have a nightmarish quality to it.
