This photo was taken above Donner Lake in California. It was a bit of climb to get to this spot, but I felt it was worth it for the view.__

Wow, stunning. The hard contrast and soft layering complement each other perfectly. The lighter patch in the brown on the right is very slightly distracting (against the beauty of the whole image itβs a minor detail). The delicate silhouettes of the trees act as a nice balance to main tree.
The idea of the tree giving directions seems quite natural (I blame the LOTR movie).

Looks good. I have seen some photo much like this before. Colours and enviroment are nice but I would think that this could be better if that tree wouldn't be so dark. Good work anyway.

an almost surreal photo - i ilike the 'redness' of the pic... i was wonderin if i could use this for a piece of my media studies coursework... i am designing a filmposter, and i think this sets the location v. nicely...

I suppose that would be fine, so long as of course you told everyone where you got it, give them the link and all of that kind of stuff, and you swear it's for a class and not for commercial use (you know, I just don't want to walk up to a movie theatre one day and see it unexpectedly

Haven't seen this one before.. The photo speaks for it self, strong color and you found and imposing dead tree for a subject. You where lucky to get such a beautiful view (little haze).

This is a stunning shot, the color is just wonderful, it makes this whole scene seem surreal.
' i stand upon this mountain, next to this deteriorating tree overlooking the valley of the sun. Its untouched virgin soil, envelops you completely, taking your mind to another place in time. I momentarily see civilization of the past, where industrialism was non-existence. Where it was only man and nature and the harsh realities of life never entered the mind of a man, but eventually greed and pride overtook him and evolved, leaving factories, buildings, and pollution, slowly destroying the purity of life making it a thing of the past....
These are places i truly hope are never destroyed. Great shot, I definately would have hiked to the top with you, this is right up my alley.
