Description This set was interesting to work with.

At first i just wanted weapons that had skulls or bones as decorations but when i sat down and started the final sketches. I had decided to make the entire weapon out of bone or claws. some strings and clothes are used, but the point is, no metal.

eh hm, the following points are not neccessarily that of Anima studio, just my personal thoughts while creating these weapons. (god i had wanted to say something like this. )

In concept these weapons are magically and/or chemically fortified so that with the right strength, they can cut or pierce armor.

Anyways..damn, this thing is gonna be long...but i feel like explaining them a bit, mostly cuz i spend time on them, hehe

Wings of the Plague: made from the skull of a large, Stork like bird. it sheds poison dusts.

Jaw of the beatle: made from a jaw bone of a large monster . this weapon has an Earth Elemental attribute.

Unicorn of Death: Made from two horns found on a unicorn type monster. The skull near the grip is of a different monster. It has death element attributes.

Fish of Shock: the pole is from a piece of whale bone, the spear head is a skull of the fish. they are really small on this, but on the right side of the spear, there s a few shells, connected by lightning. =]

Talon of the Mantis: Made from a talon found on the same monster as the "Jaw of the Beatle". The entire thing is carved out from the same talon, the little skull on it is just decoration, its not a real skull of any creature.

Hornet of Flames: Made from a rib bone of a fire breathing, dragon-type monster. The fire never goes out on that bow. The user would have to use a gauntlet made from the same bones, or he will get his hand burnt. I think i will design that gauntlet next time. hehe

whew. i wonder how many people will read this whole thing...

Oh wow, I love them all, but I think my favourite one has to be the bow, cuz I'm a sucker for fire, and bows I like the Mantis one as well, looks amazingly sharp, I wouldn't like to be on the other side of that! I love all your work, they're so damn detailed and amazing, essentually! Keep up the good work!

I actually saw this pieces one by one, after reading the description of each. It looked like pitching and idea then conceptualizing it.

What can I say? Awesome job. Good idea and beautifully executed. They all are functional designs and based off of (as much as it gets in fantasy) real background. Colors are really good, too. Amazing job, all in all.

As for meself... AAhh I love the ax! Bring me a good-ol' mug of ale, that bone ax and a bunch of stinking orcs. Perfect weekend.

Hay this rules, I wish you put so much info with all your Anima pictures ^_^
One thing though, the Unicorn of Death, wouldn't it be the Bicorn of Death, considering there are two horns?
Just a thought.

You should seriously make a weapons tutorial, these sets you've been posting kick major ass! I for one, can't draw weapons worth the life of me! If you have the time (and the mercy) to make a weapons drawing/coloring tutorial, it would be hiiiighly appreciated!

I love these things!!!

Design the monsters now you pansy!!
*laughs hysterically*

I really enjoy how you are pushing the design of your weapon sets - seriously considering the base materials and their origins as well as construction.
I had wanted to write a detailled analysis of each weapon but unlike you, I am too lazy to write descriptions about most of my work. It saddens me that the hours of thought and design that go into artwork (mine and others) are often lost because of that lack of communication.

Then again, people probably would rather a pretty picture than me rambling on about it...*shrugs*

Very pretty Wen. Don't ask me to pick favourites.

Well, if it any consolation, I now have the theory that their are mutliple Wens taking shifts around the clock to churn out volumes of quality work that we see. The number of Wens in my theory currently stands at three.

I found this very inventive, I like the way you put teeth into the Jaws of the Beetle and actually made it look like a jaw bone, thats a really nice touch.

I dont know why, but these weapons remind me of the zora from the Legend of Zelda, i just have an idea that these are the type of thing they would use.
