They're used by Demons and Angels I'm pretty sure that the hilt doesn't bother immortal beings nearly as much as it would a human being. Also a sword doesn't have to both slash and pierce look at scimitars and rapiers they only do one or the other well.

a scimitar can pierce and a rapier can slash, it's just not what they are designed for in the first place..

but instead of arguing about that look at the second design (starting your left) and tell what this thing can be good for.

hey jerk don't go dissing this guys art its a lot better than what you draw which by the way I think my baby niece which is five draws better. and you want me to tell you what those blades could be good for? well besides the fact that they are modified,  the one starting on the left looks like a European longsword, after that it could be a ceremonial blade for sacrifice, the middle a guard less   Persian shamshir, the forth and fifth do look more decretive  but they can still cut. they actually had had oriental blades like that back in the medieval era, they may have been for the weathy but still existed. so shut up and know what your talking about before you open your mouth, thank you

I was merely in a bit of a mood against oriental fantasy game
I must admit this guy is good even if I don't like the style..

anyway you don't know any bit of what I am capable of, I am young and extremly fast learner
I doubt your niece would draw better than me since I have the skills to enter the most selective and best art school in the whole world.. (that'd be les gobelins in france BTW)

yeah I was a little peeved too, just hate when people think they know it all. sorry about dissing your art, its hypocritical of me, so I do apologize for that. but you still have no right judging someone's art that is a lot more original and a lot more detailed than your pokemon pages. and that's cool your getting into your fancy school, so hope you make it!

p.s. rapiers don't cut they are a purely thrusting sword, meant for piercing armor and dueling. the blade was to thin for cutting and would more than likely snap if you tried to do that, your thinking of an estoc they had a stronger core metal which made them more durable and made it to were you could sharpen the edges of the blade, but still the blade close to the tip would have been the only part that would be sharp. and the scimitar is just what the Europeans called it, its really a shamshir, but scimitars were adopted by the movie and gaming industry, the only sword that represents the shape of a scimitar is a kilij. sorry I get carried away when talking about swords. but I do hope you make it into your school

Here is a guy with the credentials to criticize these messy useless weapons. Granted... the artist uploaded this image 14 years ago. So he might be more aware on how to design more convincing phantasy weaponry. and even for "phantasy" standards, these weapons will break your immersion rather than pulling you into that universe instead (except for very casual audiences). www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5rEm5…

also I won't talk about details, I don't care, I want to become an animator and animator don't do in details it's the art of suggestion.
BUt I am original and my POkemon webcomic is only for fun and training thus it is no indication..
Sorry If I put that again but I m quite litterally offended you said an oriental WRPG game artist is more original than me..

dont mess with the last two the red one powers are immeasurable and scary it steals powers and gives it to you permanently
and the gold one is tame (word is used loosely) it obliterates all defenses the opponent may possess and thats not even 1/4th there powers
