This got crazier than the Earth boss, and this piece pretty much made me realize that I was going overboard with detail, in a bad way.And so one of this year's resolutions is to keep the details organized @__@

I think the details in all the flames that are further away from the creature itself (although technically the flames are the creature) draw attention away from the face, which should be the focal point.

The details in this are absolutely insane, but I think they worked really well for this. I like how it gives him a wild chaotic look. Great considering his element.

i actually think the color scheme is particularly impressive, but you might need to loosen up on details near this big guy's face - overall, incredible work, as usual

Omg, this is so intense. In the thumb I couldn't even tell it was a being of some sort. It still looks awesome, but I'd have to agree, you went overboard a bit. Is that the sign of a truly awesome artist? When you actually overdue details. INTENSE!

Good God, that's amazing! No, don't take out the detail! Leave it all in, don't take a thing away! I think the only thing you need to do is go in carefully with a blur tool and slightly blur everything but his face, blurring the outer flames the most. This is amazing, I wouldn't take anything away! Just try making the flames softer, less like super-spikey, floaty armour.

This one is impressive!
But yes... I have to agree it's a little hard to understand the true form at first sight.
But I don't think this design deserves to be thrown away just because there is too much detail...
If you are still discontent, I think that, next time you draw him, taking away some of the big flames or choosing a less simetric pose would fix it pretty good.
Anyway, I think is great how it is, so, yeah.
