hey everyone, saw the comments on kickstarter and had the time to sketch today, so im showing you the updated ace of spade, its more in theme with the other court cards, much more dark.sketched a new set of gaff cards, a griffon, and the some-how missed, medusa herself.
allow me to talk a bit more, then i ll shut up and take your money. XD

Well I've followed up on what I said I would do. Got my monetary support and I'm really looking forward to the cards. I'll be a few to people, have a display deck and one to play with.
With art this good, I'll keep people distracted looking at their cards while I take all their money in poker

ah? why did the coloring change on the ace of hearts? I rather liked the previous color concept. it worked quite nicely.
and ooooooooooh shineh new ace of spades ideaa
(~*Q*)~ the new gaff cardss.... I really really love the medusa's back one, and that would also strongly fit with the deck's name theme name too.
the griffin thing... for some reason, not feeling it quite as much, partly because two dragons take up the jokers, so adding only more mythical creature seems arbitrary.
and I guess it's my personal preference. If any other mythical animal joins the deck, I'd have chosen the phoenix to pair against the dragon (but that maybe would work better as a pair for the two jokers. and again, my personal obsessive preference. >3>; )
but I also still like the previous two gaff card ideas.. but seeing Medusa here, I'd love to see how you would try them in full body too.

oh huh... since I also really liked the previous two gaff cards, would it be possible to combine their two halves for the other gaff card? fortune teller one side up, lutist the other side up, split along that diagonal.
I was also thinking of the aces following card suit symbolism, AKA spades = death, hearts = love, clubs = war, diamonds = wealth/fortune.
ah, and another reason pinpointed on the griffin: its body stance is rather similar to the dragon jokers. if both gaff cards did this, it might feel more balanced, like how the previous pair of gaff cards both imitated the face cards' layout.
I like the feel of the completely different feel/layout of the Medusa card though.
either two gaff cards each completely different from the rest of the deck, or them paired with each other at least.

Though I love the ace of spades my favorite has to be the ace of clubs...

I like the heart one, mix of fire and water, grimoire and scepter underneath. I also really do not see how the obligatory medusa card was missed so far, I mean, now that we've got it in front of us, it's obvious

We are, you can back it on Kickstarter ([link] )sometime in the next 68 hours to support the project. You can also wait until they are out and buy them from a store though it will be less expensive to back it early.

Love the ace of spades now, it seems to fit so much better with the ork race and the whole fact that the ace of spades is traditionally the hangman's card. I know why you've changed the heart to all red, but I have to say that I really liked a lot more when it was half red and half blue, for me it really stood out and had a beauty to it, but as I said, I know why you changed it. Same with the gaff cards, it makes sense to have medusa, but I really liked the other ideas, especially the sourceress. Eitherway, can't wait for them!!

Ace of Spades is improved, fits much better I'd say.
The other aces, I don't get behind as much. I feel like each shape is ideal to have some kind of weapon symmetrically positioned in the center with the shapes coming from it. The Spades would loook mighty sweet with say a cruel black sword instead of the sword-like shape, the Hearts could equally contain a sword and is shaped for another set of wings on the outside, perhaps this time the original feathered wings, I think it could suit it. The Diamonds and Clubs on the other hand are much trickier, I'm not sure about the Diamonds design but honestly can't think of anything much other, maybe the eagle in the middle is throwing me off, same with the faces on the Clubs, I like the idea but I don't think it's too fitting, perhaps just 3 skulls?
But looking close I see the little insignias in the corners and I really like the shapes they take, the Ace of Spades almost perfectly matches the little Spades shape, perhaps follow suit and do something similar with the others? A winged key feels like it could really work for the Hearts anyway.
Love the Medusa joker, the griffon looks good, not sure if it works as well as the Medusa. I think I'd really like to see two medusa gaffs but from different angles? A back shot and front shot perhaps? Or maybe two different Medusas?
Just some thoughts, I'd really love this to work.

Gotta admit, after repeatedly seeing your art updates for this deck, I decided to back it! First kickstarter backing for me, thanks to the awesomeness of your art work! Amazing stuff, keep up the good work! Oh, and if you guys ever come out with a black background deck, i'll double my backing! 'nuff said

I liked this Ace of Spades more. Hey, the griffon would pair up with the dragon you made as the joker. Make it blue griffon and red dragon.
I don't know what to say about the Ace of club though. It does suit in, I just can't figure out why there're faces there. o.o
