FINALLY THESE ARE DONE.Single spot page for my rendition of interview with a vampire for my final illustration project, which is an annoying and slapped together at the last minute assignment they gave us >:/
BUT I DIGRESS,
I did two pages, this one and a spread, for the format of a storybook. I tried to visually make it look like something from an animated film as well, I dunno.
This is a less known scene from the book when Claudia and Louis are searching for other vampires in Europe and they run into (what I believe was) a Nosferatu in some church ruins. I omitted the text for like, copyright stuff lol.
Background is watercolor, characters are pencil drawings and then colored digitally, plus touchups.
Louis and Claudia of course belong to Anne Rice, I just drew them :>

louis looks like youd expect him to look like...the whiney annoying un-appreciative vampire that he is...but all in all tis brilliant, im yet to finish this book despite the film being my fave film ever...claudia looks scarily cute

I liked this part a lot, it was a shame they didn't do anything with this bit in the movie! I loved the description of the beast that they found too. It's really cool to see someone illustrate this part! Thanks for sharing!

reeeaallly dig the background. though i cant really tell what the right dark thing is...a border to go with another page? a column? idk. the fur on louis' fur coat looks rushed, and claudia's head i too bulboud while her eye is too forward. also snow bears a striking resemblance to confetti. though, i have a feeling most of this is due to the time constraint you were given. still p nice :>

In regards to the fur, I wasn't trying to do anything overly rendered on any part of the characters. Iunno
but yes, also time constraints. We had like a measley three weeks to throw this together x_x

I knew which scene it was from the second I saw this! Very nice job. Oh, and I does look like something that could've been animated. Also, I like the background. It's not sloppy and it still doesn't take the attention away from the characters. And your Louis looks adorable!
