[link] <- goes with that.Final illustration project, blah blah. My children-ish animated-film-knock-off-ish version of the book by Anne Rice. This is the scene when Lestat makes a surprise visit to Rue Royale just as Claudia and Louis are leaving for Europe. LOL SURPRISE!
Background is watercolor, characters are pencil + photoshop + touchups
Louis, Lestat and Claudia belong to Anne Rice of course.

ooo! i like this page better. holy shit neato background. i gotta learn to watercolor. my only real qualms about it are the textures on lestat; i think they take away from him. i can't figure out the skin texture at all (though maybe it's cuz i havent read the book or seen the movie?) and the coat texture is kind of flat. still, though, noice.
p.s. if i remember correctly, this takes place in the french quarter of new orleans. prost and i saw the houses this place was based after when we took this vampire tour around new orleans. total coolies

skin texture is cause he eats a bunch of alligators and snakes to get back to life. The flatness was intended. I dunno. I'm very tired, Blitz. lol

I think it looks great, and the fact that it looks cartoonish gives me such a great visual of how bestial Rue and Claudia are. Lestat seems to be the more "shy" one, i dunno... kinda hard to explain lol xD

Lol you've got the characters confused: The Rue Royale is their townhouse. Louis is the one getting held up by the neck, Lestat is the big dude, and Claudia is the little troll thing lol
