Amazing art! You know, Papyrus sort of reminds me of the revenant from Doom II due to his color scheme even though there probably isn't any game more on the opposite side of the spectrum than Doom is to Undertale XD.

The resemblance in INCREDIBLE, but yeah it's Undertale, it's hard to tell what is a coincidence and what is not. Still the shirt that looks like the revenant's armor and those shoulders along with the overal color scheme really makes a case for Papyrus being inspired by the revenant. I wonder if somebody else has noticed this, I mean even the fact that he is a tall skeleton compared to sans and even compared to the player also cements this idea, since in Doom II the Revenant IS one of the few monsters that is taller than the player character and it stands out in a crowd, it is also the only monster in that game that has 2 very distinct attacks (punching and a fireball that acts like a homing misile) it makes it a priority target and revenants always refuse to be ignored due to the high danger they pose, it makes one really think that Papyrus is sort of the anti-revenant XD
