Description
The story behind this project came pretty easily to me.Character portraits will follow.
Comments encouraged.
And for those who can't recognize these characters:
Red= Mugen of Samurai Champloo
Orange= Haruko of FLCL
Yellow= Alucard of Hellsing
Green= Alita/Gally of Battle Angel Alita
Blue= Vash the Stampede of Trigun
Indigo= Sen of Princess Mononoke
Violet= c'mon, you know who that is.

I did wrestle with that very idea, and come the day I actually make something of this plan, I intend to tackle it. Since this piece was made I advanced Integra Hellsing to leader of the Yellow Lanterns, but his place in that corps is undeniable. Just remember what happened to Rip Van Winkle. Remember her unbridled terror at the first sign of his coming. That is fear incarnate at work.

Yes, I figure she would be inducted as a matter of convenience. Seras may not quite be the towering terror that Alucard is, but she can instill fear if she tries.

He's Alucard of Hellsing. Vampire hunter and king of monsters.

You should really see the whole series, but this is the best example of his abilities, particularly for inspiring fear.
Follow each part to the end of the episode, and pay close attention to the huntress Rip Van Winkle, especially during Part 4. Notice her sudden shift in mood at the first sign of his arrival, she is paralyzed with absolute terror. That's an ideal trait in a member of the Sinestro Corps.

Mugen as a Red? I dunno, that guy is crazy but usually chilled out. I thought the testostarone filled maniacs from DBZ would fill in one of those, the way they scream and just rip everything apart.

DBZ? I'll grant you that they might fit the profile too, but, and take these words to heart, I'd sooner kill myself, then come back from the dead and kill everyone who gives DBZ so much as a second glance, than include any of them in one of my projects, unless it was to kill or debase them and all they stand for.
DBZ annoys me. A bit.
Anyway, it's not like Guy Gardner or Hal Jordan are always adrenaline charged berserkers either, but the red rings found them too. The purest anger stems from personal pain, and Mugen swims in it.

You're not the only one. Granted, I do remember it fondly in the way a 24 year old would remember a lost toy, but I don't like to hold it in the high praise that everyone seems to give it. So much wasted potential, so many stupid muscle men, so much unneccesary violence, so...much...yelling!
The only good thing that show has brought me is exposure to the original Dragonball, which is far superior than it;s more famous sequel. Probably because it has something called "pacing", "comedy", "drama" and a genuine sense of fun. It sucks that it'll never get as much love as it should, but thas what happens when you cater to the braindead.
Still think Mugen is too free and independant to lose control like that, maybe someone who is venegance obssessed could do it. just my opinion.

Too free and independent to lose control? Are you kidding? Despite his slacker act, Mugen gives up what little control he has practically every episode. The man is a violent berserker. Once he starts hacking away, he does not know when to stop, and all it does is get him into more trouble. Atrocitus described the red light as a force of violent action, with no consideration of consequence. THAT is Mugen all over. He may not act like a bloodthirsty beast all the time, but his heart festers with rage.

But he does most of those violent and reprehensible acts out of fun, the only ones he ever gets pissed at is Jin, Fuu and anybody who crosses him. I know he's a crazy berserker, but I thought most of the time he does it cause he doesn't give a damn, not cause he's angry.
Atrocitus created the Red Lanterns as a response to personal vengeance, like a lot of the members of that corp ask for some trangression to be avenged. It's not like Mugen is particulary pissed at anyone...unless society as a whole counts.

I think society does count, particularly because he doesn't have a more specific target to vent at. Rage is a lot more complicated than you might think.
Think of where he comes from. All he's ever known is pain and misery from his earliest moments. And yet, he doesn't have anywhere to focus all of his anger and frustration. So he waits for people to give him a reason. It's not about fun really, murder isn't supposed to be fun, it's about satisfying his desire for revenge, for all the things that have made him what he is. If he really didn't give a damn, he wouldn't fight.

She's Alita of Battle Angel Alita, known in Japan as Gunnm. It's a gritty cyberpunk epic, and it's also James Cameron's dream movie project. And in my opinion, one of the coolest manga characters in the genre.

Was I the only one who thought the Incarnation of Rage (for lack of the better name) looked suspiciously like the Red Bull unicorn-hunting-creature from 'The Last Unicorn'?

And the word they've been throwing around for them is the Entities. Incarnation is not a bad term either, though.

Well, the arrangement's nice. But, eh, they're photo-captures with a decent color-shading for each of the respective 'corps-members.'
Though, it does help prep the way for what's to come.
