Because no matter where you go, every step will bring you closer to me."I loved Ron Perlman in Hellboy and the City of Lost Children, so it was a thrill for me when I learned that he was going to be Slade on Teen Titans. I've been meaning to draw the character for some time, but I've been discouraged by a shortage of good reference material (unlike with the other TT characters, there aren't very many good pictures of the animated Slade).

You did a great job at giving him an intimidating presence with the angle you drew this at, and the fact that he's silhouetted against the lights is a plus too. Great job!

Slade is definately one of my favorite bad guys. He's so cool and collected, and the voice really brings him to life.

Oh my gosh! You've seen City of the Lost Children?? It was so hard to find and buy that movie... I ended up with a (damaged) VHS tape of it, subbed, for $30 on ebay!! Perlman is indeed an amazing actor... and what a range!

Yeah, I bought a DVD at the Borders store I work at, after seeing the preview for it in the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" DVD. Perlman is indeed an excellent actor. C.o.L.C., Blade 2, Hellboy, Teen Titans, and those are just the ones I've seen. I know he's done many others.

Weird is w-e-i-r-d. I wrote 'wierd' before cuz I was thinking of the 'I-b4-E' rule, but now that I look at it again, 'weird' sounds right. "Wyrd" is just... wrong ^^
the story of "City of Lost Children?" Mad scientist kidnaps children and steals their dreams (because he cannot dream himself), so a little girl and a gentle giant (Perlman) work to thwart him and save the giant's little brother. It's better than I make it sound. It takes place in what looks to be a dilapidated French ghetto in a style comparable to a Tim Burton film. Also involved is a one-eyed cult, flea-induced violence, an old pair of siamese twins running a gang of pickpocketing children, evil santas, "raaadiators," and five identical brothers who all suffer from narcalepsy. Among other things. It's foreign. Go rent it.

The S... God I love the S.. *Swoons* Slade is the best character on TT because he has that voice, don't you agree? Without the voice.. Slade isn't as tough and badarse as he should..
But of course if he was the silent type that would be so much better. The angle is awesome and I love how he's staring down at the world below him. "Bow to my power." And his muscles.. Good shadowing.

As a matter of fact, I DO agree. Ron Perlman makes Slade work as no one else can. It's not just the fact that he's tough, either. Anybody can be tough. Slade's voice alone carries a certain kind of sinister wit that makes him such a menacing villain. And thank you for saying so.
