Description
The Alan Moore classic that I finally got around to reading, and it is beyond fantastic! I thought I'd seen everything, until I read V's address to the people of Britain. "We've been thinking about letting you go." I wish I'd thought of that. After all the attention this particular deviation has received following the release of the movie, I thought I'd draw some more attention to my other V bit: V for Vendetta - Remember, Remember

Actually, they're producing it, not directing.

OOOOH! I want to read this so bad. I'm waiting for the library to ship in my request.
Just looks awesome, awesome, awesome. Alan Moore is (or at least was) badass.

I wasn't too happy with volume 2 of LXG. Seemed to wallow in itself, if you know what I mean.
however WATCHMEN....oh yeah...that book kicks serious ass.

Eh, I admit that LEG 2 did end on kind of a flat note, but the story was interesting nevertheless. And yeah, Watchmen kicked ass. "Oh, yeah, there's no air up here."

Thanks. He's still badass, 42! Check out the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or Top 10 or one of his recent ABC titles. He wrote a whole slew of different comic titles just a few years ago.

Yes, it's part of a rhyme V says in the book as well. I have it tacked to this comment as a sig.

Yeah. It's a reference to Guy Fawkes, an Englishman from about 400 years ago who blew up the parliment building on the fifth of November as an attack on the corrupt British government. Fawkes was captured, tried for treason, then hung and burned. November 5th is Guy Fawkes Day in England, and from what I understand, they celebrate by lighting him on fire, I assume they use some kind of dummy or something. V's mask is also modeled after the face of Guy Fawkes in tribute, that's why he says it. His attitude was that Guy Fawkes should have been honored and commemorated for being bold enough to blow up the parliment, which gives you an idea as to what's going on with him.

He didn't actually blow it up, he was caught surrounded by barrels of gunpowder and holding a wick. The parliament buildings still stand (which is why V was able to blow them up).

Yeah, he tried to blow it up, you're right. I just made a mistake, I actually know that.
