Here i am doing a study on Optimus. Whenever i want to draw a character, i always want to be as accurate as possible, so i usually sit down for a while and do a detailed study on them. Making lots of notes, examining colors, breaking them down into simple geometric shapes, looking at joints and how they move, etc.I've been working for a couple hours on Optimus. But, i do believe i really need some fresh air. My body can't handle this much work, over 10 hours a day suddenly is making me very very sore. So, hellooooo fresh air and walking the dog! Peace!
EDIT: my apologies, Optimus' crest IS freestanding, just thicker than i had realized, and connected with out seams.
I DO NOT OWN TRANSFORMERS.

Woo, studying! Maybe that's what I need to do. 
I didn't quite notice that with Orion's eyes. I was like, "Yeaaah, the look different..." but I thought it was all in the eyebrows. |D; Nooot. Pft, Orion has such an innocent look.

I personally find it very very helpful! It makes it so i don't have to refer to a reference quite as often later- and gives me a better understanding of the character!
actually come to think of it; I think the eyebrows do play a part as well though, you're right. The change is mostly in his expression it seems- slightly raised eyebrows and an open expression.

I think the one with the most prominent eyebrows is Startscream. o.o Well, not sticking out, just...more noticable -- COS THEY'RE LIKE, ALL OVER THE PLACE. XDD Pft, if I may quote a Youtuber, "What Animated had in chins, Prime has in eyebrows." XDD Glad I could help! 8D
...I was gonna say that I wanted to see him kick back for once, but Orion isn't even like that. He'll figure out something's wrong sooner or later with the Decepticons, though, so he won't be too corrupted. XDDD

Amg starscream and Megatron's eyebrows are just so... HHNGH. EYBROW-EY. PFfff dat quote! (i attempted to start watching TFAnimated but unfortunately i was interrupted by dinner making and cleaning!)

Pft, it's definitely different than Prime. .__. Bumblebee talks, Cybertron is still alive and well, as well as the council and that jazz, and it's just...different. XD But it's a good different!! I love the show very much. Especially Prowl.
[[Ahaha, I did, I did!]] Yeah, the only reason he would stay with Megatron though is because he's the only person he knows. Hum, I'm trying to put a book and a t.v. series together and I think I shouldn't. XDDD Because Optimus obtained the Matrix of Leadership before leaving Cybertron to give it time to heal, which means that he'd remember Bumblebee. Probably not Bulkhead or Arcee, but at least Bumblebee and Ratchet. At least in the book. I have no idea for the Prime. XDD;

Cept in the show- Ratchet said he knew Optimus before he was a Prime, remember? He'd probably know Ratchet as well! (AHAHAHA SLASH FODDER!!!)
Ooooh and there is a TFP book? ;_; how did i not know this?
Although my girlfreind spoiled me this Christmas and fueled my nerd-dom with a TFP origin comic :'D

Actually, there's about...I want to say about five book out related to Transformers. I think most are on the Bay movies, but the one I chose was when the Cybertronian war started, how Megatron and Orion met, and all that hooah. Really good read, finished it in three days. XDDD; It's called Transformers: Exodus, by Alex Irvine.
