I had believed Devastator had more intelligence than pure raw rage.  The ones that I thought would be all 100% rage and violence are the G1 Predacons / Predaking.  And possibly the G1 Terrorcons / Abominus.  The most intelligent Autobot, I believe, is G1 Computron, formed by the Technobots.

Yeah, also dinobot combination, in the comic they are pretty beasty . But I guess in this painting devastator went outrage and become a threat to both decepticons and autobots.

Devastator seems to be loyal to Megatron (when in Gestalt mode) BUT when the Constructicons are separate in each ones individual mode, they seem to disagree with Megatron more and even plot to go off and do their own thing with or without Megatron's approval.  I am not sure if anyone else who has seen the original G1 series (American version) would have noticed this trend or maybe I am just crazy.
