ITR Hunting Event : May 30-June 6 2018
EVENT LEADER | Kachow [Rogue NPC]
As you are wandering around, whether on patrol or training your apprentice, you see the speediest cat you've ever witnessed go launching through the neutral area around your territory and arc into the air. She latches onto a bird mid-flight and drags it down to earth, killing it swiftly. It is, quite honestly, one of the most spectacular feats that you have seen. Upon noticing you, she zooms right up, careful not to cross into your territory, and beams, "HEYA! I'm KACHOW! The speediest of Hawke's rogues! I've been working at hunting for all the little mouths we have to feed! Think you got what it takes to beat me in a hunting match? Show me your skills!"
Her offer of friendly competition hangs in the air, do you choose to take her up on it? Or do you simply keep walking?
You can participate in this event by doing one or more of the following!:
- Comment below with your cat's reaction to Kachow!
-> This will not earn you an item, but it will allow you to have an interaction with Kachow and possibly enhance your relation with her and the Rogues in general!
- Create a written piece of at least 300 words of your cat showing off their hunting skills and link it below!
-> This will earn you a random item rolled by Kachow!
- Create a drawn piece that is at least a fullcolor fullbody of your cat showing off their hunting skills and link it below!
-> This will earn you a random item rolled by Kachow!
Random Item Options
-> Feathers [common]
-> Bones [limited]
-> Bird Skull [rare]
-> A pet rock [limited]
RULES
If you have questions about events you should comment below or not the group so that all admins can assist you. This event will go on only for the time period specified in its title, after that it will close! You MAY participate in ALL of the ways with as many cats as you want, but drawing two pieces of one of your cat will not earn them double rolls. Only the first of each category for that specific cat will count!
For example:
I CAN do a comment for Mothwhisper, a drabble for Mothwhisper, and a drawing for Mothwhisper and get prizes for all of them!
I CANNOT do a drawing for Mothwhisper and a drawing for Mothwhisper and get prizes for both!
ALL WRITTEN PIECES AND DRAWN PIECES SHOULD ALSO BE ABLE TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE GROUP. They should be separate deviations. Only roleplay responses should be commented below. All written and drawn pieces should be LINKED but not written in the comments, ya feel pals?

Wetpaw tries to huntWetpaw stayed low to the ground, her butt wiggling back and forth as she watched her prey. She could do this. They could feel their heart start to steadily pound, anticipating what was to come. Her target sat unsuspecting just feet away. She could do it! Leaping forward they attempted to pin the small rabbit, missing she gave chase to the brown bunny as it darted through the tree and underbrush. Everytime she get close, practically able to feel it's fur it would speed off in a different direction forcing her to catch up all over again. It darted back and forth doing its best to lose her with its swift movements. “Get back here!” she hissed get frustrated with this wild chase she was being drug through. The rabbit ducked into a small burrow out of sight but Wetpaw wasn't giving up yet! She followed the rabbit into its den wiggling and twisting through the best she could in the tight fit in the small tunnel. Unable to get very far in the burrow Wetpaw pulled herse

"Woah! Super impressive!" it wasn't because Wetpaw was a healer, no all the healers of the rogues were also taught to fight and hunt, but it was simply because rabbits were difficult prey! Kachow grins down at the young molly before knocking a bone towards her, "Seems fitting you should have this!"

Great job with that kill!" she bounces from paw to paw before grinning, "Yeah, animals like prey don't make good pets, but ya know what does? Rocks! Here, this would be a great one!" she knocks a little pebble over to Driftcloud.

"RUN RUN RUN!!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!!"" Kachow encourages the tom from the sidelines, clapping her paws wildly at the sight of his fluffy arse springing through the grasses. It's TOO GOOD. His determination is admirable though, so upon his return he is presented with a gift, "Here, a lil something for making me grin like a dang fool!"

Okay, well Weaseltuft had just seen a cat almost fly up in the air to catch some bird. His eyes were widened and it was pretty obvious that he was impressed. "Hi! I feel like I've seen ye around b'fore..." Weaseltuft began, but shook his head. "If I have, m'so sorry if I don't remember yer name. Let's just say we met lots of cats on our way here..." the medicine cat chuckled and sat down besides the ginger cat. "Hey so...m'mate just got some kits! I would LOVE t'hunt for her but...m'medicine cat n' I never really...learned th'proper way to hunt? Well I did but...it never worked. The thing is, a leap like that?" Weaseltuft meowed, looking at his fat belly and jiggling it with one paw. "Ye...that ain't gonna happen. What I CAN do though is show ye how to hunt underwater. On ground, I was never good, but perhaps I can succeed under water, ye...come with me!" Weaseltuft meowed cheerfully, yet nervously. He was going to show an expert hunter how to hunt without even being sure he would do it himself! After the two cats ended up in CreekClan camp, he showed her an area where the ice was cracked and accessible for fishing. "Aight well...ye'll have t'hold yer breath n' know how to look underwater. It'll take some time but...ye'll get used to it," Weaseltuft meowed, closing his eyes for a long moment. Alright alright, I can do this...he thought to himself before puffing his cheeks full with air and diving into the creek like an otter. He was now underwater and the water was freezing cold. Looking around, his target was on a trout that was standing still, unnoticed even. He took the opportunity to paddle his way to the fish and began to chase it with average speed, but it was much too fast for him. Instead, he targetted a smaller fish, which he was able to sink his fangs into before coming out of the water, his fur freezing. Luckily for him, his fat had kept him warm. "So ye..." he meowed, plopping the tiny fish down to the ground. "That's one way t'fish, th'underwater way...the next way is on land but...I ain't good at that. So...what d'ye think?" the medicine cat asked Kachow.

"Not bad for an old man!" Kachow is impressed with the tom's skills, but keeps her distance from the water, where all the ice has melted in the coming spring. She doesn't seem interested in fishing at all, nor in the water. Impressed with his skills sure, but not in doing any of it herself. "I think I'll stick to land, can't run in water! But hey, in return, how about this trinket?"

Kachow's entire body seems to vibrate at Baby's query, at their confession. In fact, she is a solar flare lassoed and dragged down to the plains in how much she glows and beams at them. With ears standing straight up, their rounded tips a compliment to her face, she chirps at them, "Of course I can teach you! The first step is-go as fast as you can!" with a little bump of her shoulder to Baby's own, she darts away, "TAG YOU'RE IT! NOW PRETEND I'M A MOUSE AND CATCH ME!"
When the lesson of speed is finally over, Kachow grins at Baby, "I know that you're new around here. At least with us. So I want you to have a friend of mine! A good rogue named Googly-Moogly used to bring us all rocks. I kept mine as pets! And you can have this one. Her name is Humphrella!" she slides the stone over to Baby fondly, "She's a good listener. And you can practice your pouncing on her!"
