Description
Reece is an 18-year-old half-merman with webbed hands and feet. He has an uncanny knack for predicting the weather, can hold his breath for 10 minutes, and has a passive echolocation ability that he's not conscious of using. He was abandoned as a baby after his human mother died because his father knew that a hybrid couldn't survive in the ocean at such a young age. Luckily for Reece, a loving couple adopted him when he was a baby, but they moved away from the beach when he was a teen. Reece and his adoptive parents have no idea what his true lineage is. All they know is that ever since the move to the city, his skin breaks out into a severe case of eczema on his arms, legs, and back, spreading up his neck and cheeks recently. He suffers with constant itching and asthma that medication does little to help. Having no other options, he is sent to a special facility where doctors will try to find a cure for what ails him. Unbeknownst to the boy and his parents, the facility is actually a front for a shady government organization trying to conduct research on mythical hybrids.
(Note: his last name is pronounced cad-WALL'-uh-der)

A guy who was born with webbed hands and feet? He must have a parent that was a mer creature before he was abandoned to live with man. 🤔

Reece would tell you that it's only partial simple syndactyly. One day he might realize the truth...

Do you think he's fond of stories that talk about characters like him?

He prefers mysteries, thrillers, and some horror novels; he doesn't actually read many fantasy stories. But if it's a good story he would probably enjoy it. ^__^
