Ponies

Alicorn:

Alicorns are the longest living sub species out of all the others. This is because of the magic that channels through there horn throughout there body. Plus there are a mixture of all the other species, taking the best parts of the genes, making them stronger and more resistant to problems.

Naturally born unicorns live the longest. While others who become a Alicorn do not. They live 0-500 years. This is because part of there genetics change causes them pain for many years. Like Twilight. She earned her wings, but it takes years for her body to readjust to the bone changes in her body.

This is not for every Alicorn though. Some may live as long as normal unicorns as they may get the worse Genes from the parts they are made off. Causing them to get sick and die early.

Unicorn:

Unicorns are the second longest living pony due to the extra magic in there horns. This extra magic also protects them from some sicknesses others like earth and Pegasi May get more easily.

Unicorns also try and take excellent care of there health taking the upmost care in there bodies. Rarity, for example, hates being dirty. Like most unicorns she does her best to stay clean and tidy.

When they do become sick, they make sure to follow everything by book to make sure they heal and become healthy properly.

Most unicorns feel this way In more populated areas. Unicorns for example in ponyville don’t feel as strongly about that.

Pegasi:

These ponies have the shortest life span due to there body and life style. There bodies are thinner, smaller, and more prone to sicknesses. This is because of there frequent traveling and being in the air most of there lives.

Because there body is weaker than most, they can also get hurt more easily. More so when it comes to breaking there bones since they are hallow like any other bird.

Earth:

Earth ponies live in and around the ground itself. As children, they get sick more often than others but it helps them create a very strong immune system. Most earth ponies have strength and power on there side and live long and happy lives, some with no problems at all!

Other Species

Draconequss:

Their strong and magical. Of course there going to live for a long time. Some however, are lucky to live past child hood because there is TOO much magic.

Dragon:

They pretty much live long because they sleep a lot. Lol

ok, basically, Dragons can live for a extremely long time depending on there growth rate. Take the dragon lord for example, I aged him around 1300 years. *funfact: ember was adopted and chosen as an egg*
Spike however, will live to 500 years like most normal dragons.

Basically, the bigger you are the more you sleep which the longer that makes you live. Big dragons will put themselves in a hibernation state and can sleep for around 100 years.

Spike, Garble, and other teens shown in the show will live 0-500 years because they remain
in a smaller state that requires less sleeping.

Other mentions

Griffins:

These creatures live for 0-250 years because of there cat genes. I mean, let’s be real. Well taken care of cats can live for over 20 years. XD So I put that with griffins.

Even though they have wings, they are less prone to getting sick, unlike Pegasi, this is because they would rather find a nice spot and take a nap. They do little traveling and stick to there own.

Sea Ponies:

The deeper you go, the slower they get, the longer they live.

Sea Ponies are a whole different species. They are branched and can be made of many different creatures.

Some may be part shark, while others may be more of a tropical fish. Depending on there variety or mixed species, the longer or shorter they will live.

These types of sea ponies are not from the movie/show.

hippagriffs:

Hippagriffs live for 0-150 years. After the Storm King, yes, they can turn into “Sea Ponies”, the ones shown in the movie.
The ones who live in the ocean live longer than those outside.

Changeling:

Changelings are a species that CANNOT live without food. They starve extremely fast and most eat 5 times a day. With possible snacks. When they travel they often have backpacks that they carry food in.

When they don’t eat there bodies become dry and they start to shed there skin. This causes them to become bony and dark colored. Which in turn, they become the un-reformed changelings. More about that later. Cause I got a lot about them

As long as they eat they live.

Some have been said to have lived to 300 years, but that is still in question.
