StarLight wondered along the trees. Taking in the smells, sights, and sounds. Her pack on both sides of her, just in view threw the thick bush. She wonder slowly and quietly but also very eager to see what would see around the next tree bend.
She noticed that leaves were starting to fall from the large trees. Her mom, Blue, said that was normal for leaves to just fall off because they died. It also allowed new ones to grow in its place. StarLight came face to face with a branch holding a single leaf. StarLight stared at it very intently. Then a small breeze blew threw the woods catching the leaf. It snapped of the branch and landed on Starlights nose.
She froze unable to move.
She let out a whimper. What should she do? Should she let it fall, what if it attacked her. Blue came out from behind a tree. "Starlight?" Blue cooed out
she noticed StarLight still like a frozen puddle. Blue came up and blew the leaf of her nose. "Whats wrong?" Blue asked her young chick.I
"It could have attacked me," StarLight said. " you saved me from a fight! "
Blue chuckled. "What the leaf, it can't do you harm! Its not a animal dear."
" But you said they die. Anything that dies is a living animal right? " Starlight asked as she gazed up at her mom.
"Remember what I told you about plants?" Blue asked.
" Yeah. "
"That's what that is." Blue responded .
"Oh," StarLight said. She chuckled and bounced of to catch up with her dad.
" I can't believe i was scared of a plant! " Starlight laughed wanting to share the story with her siblings.
Blue chuckled to her self and started of after her pack.
