Twilight wanted a girl from the beginning….

1:
When Twilight found out she was expecting she couldn’t have been more happy. To know she had a future ruler she could present and have a strong heir. She and Flash were over joyed and hoped for a strong child. Flash didn’t care what gender the child was, all he wanted was a healthy foal. While Twilight agreed, secretly, she wanted a little girl. More specifically, a Unicorn Filly.

2:
But did that ever come crashing down when she had a colt. Sure she was overjoyed he was an ALICORN, But that was only from an accident, not because it was all special like Flurry Heart. She would often ponder over what her girl could have looked like. This caused the first drift between Dusk Rise and Twilight. But of course, it’s not that she neglected him (much), she did love him dearly, but honestly, her wanting a girl was a secrete to everyone but her, showed.

3: Flash and Twilight always wanted AT LEAST two children. So when she finally got a girl, she was completely overjoyed. It was bonus that she was a unicorn. Just what she always wanted! She was perfect and cooed all over her. Even took her to royal meetings and gatherings. Which she never did with Dusk as a new born.

This destroyed Dusk Rise in more than one way. Especially when he found out she always wanted a girl. Twilight started to neglect everyone but Star Beam. Even Flash was starting to get concerned.

4: As Star Beam aged Dusk Rise became more distant. After the failing in changing the law, Twilight promised him, it would change, through his sister. Which at that, was his breaking point.

Twilight started to feel if Dusk Rise didn’t want to be bothered, why bother him. She knew he was upset (which she felt was rightly so but felt, oh well. We will fix it anyway, get over it) but didn’t know the extent of it. Which fully tuned into her downfall along with her daughter. She never hated him or disliked him. She loved him fully, but her longing for a filly shadowed that. And once her wish was granted, she never fully realized what she had done until it was too late.

Flash in this entire story is definitely at a stand still. He always wanted kids but is a dad that is always at work. And talking with his kids can be a bit difficult. He knows what Twilight is doing and when he learns why, trying to change her thinking around didn’t go to well and she denied it. When in all reality, Twilight is one at fault.

A little side story(ish) involving how Twilight REALLY feels. Which will be brought out in the prologue.
