Description
I really hate frogs, so look no further for the inspiration to this piece. My wife has two pet frogs in a tank that were supposed to be small little cute quarter sized darlings, but grew into mammoth jabba the hutt blobs in her tank. I do find feeding time fascinating. She throws in all these crickets and at first they wander around getting a feel for the new place. Then all hell breaks loose as one of them wanders across the devil himself and is devoured. It's every cricket for himself. This is when I start cheering for the crickets. "Go get them. You can beat these guys… work together". In this piece the crickets have joined together in a revolution against their oppressor. They will not take it anymore. Thanks for looking. I hope you see the humor in this.Related content

I do see the humor, but it kinda makes me sad when I realize how awesome this scenario would really be if it were to happen. But it likely won't.
Still love this though. <3

I love the humor, the irony, all the reversals of behavior depicted in your work. Truly unique. Great attitude and reminds me of how I think sometimes. Glad I found you. Wonderful stuff. Thank you...I have added one as a favorite and am watching you now. You are 'outside of the box,' and that has a great appeal to me.

OMG, the petco workers told me that if the crickets aren't provided with food, eventually they will start eating my frogs XD

AAAAAAGGHH!!! DX Oh, the terrible, terrible irony! Right after mentioning that I have arachnophobia, it turns out the person who posted above me has a spider in their avatar!
*cough* But that has nothing to do with your painting.

Aww, I love frogs! But I like crickets too... Hmmm... I'll imagine that the frogs break loose and escape, never to return. The crickets live happily ever after, and the frogs find a bunch spiders to devour and then live happily ever after themselves. (I have arachnophobia DX)
Great painting!

Awwwww. This is kind of sad for me, because I really like frogs. But congratulations to the crickets.

this can happen. I gave a girl a lizard and the next morning she found the crickets chewing on it. they ate its eyes out lol

heehee I love this because it's sort of charming and creepy at the same time. no one wants their food to turn on them... The warm colors in the background make it look a little like a picture from a kid's book which makes it much more funny and less creepy I love the way you were able to make the un-natural poses (does one have a leg lifted to start beating the frog? LOL) of the crickets look natural.

I'm such a softie for insects. I go to the petstore, buy a dozen crickets, take them home, and keep them as pets!

Cruel but geniously done! I love the tragedy in this, and the color scheme. And the way everything gets more blurry when it's further. Great work!

Diet and exercise for sure. I wouldn't mind them so much if they were a little trimmer, less slimy and worked harder for their food... like roll over and beg or something.

Yeah they could at least take a shower before asking for lunch
..I had a chance to catch a couple of them in the stream near my house, I accidentaly caught a poisonous one, so I had to let it go
