I like the colors too, very rich purples, the center is almost spider-like. I have a few suggestions for you. Macro means close-up, and yes limited DOF, but limited is making this not very sharp. I see you shot at f/2.8, I would suggest trying it at f/8 or at least f/5.6 next time to get a big more DOF in the parts of the flower, that will still render the background out of focus, it will just bring the petals and the parts of the flower sticking out both into focus.

Thanks a bundle for the comment! And for the suggestion! Thing is... the wheel on my Camera that allows me to change the appature, is broken, the camera doesn't want to respond to it when I turn it

I have a lens where the zoom ring turns, but doesn't move the elements to zoom in. I should get that in to be fixed too, but I can still zoom by pushing and pulling, so I'll wait for now I suppose. Equipment malfunctions suck.
