Description "Elia! I demand answers now!"

Elia, shaking and quivering as her husband raised his voice at her and tears ran down her face. Choking up she looked into Rheagar's velvet eyes, that were burning with rage and she continued to sob.

"Rheagar, beloved.."

"Tell me the truth! Is what the maid had confessed to me true or not!"

Elia, unable to bear anymore of Rheagar's rage, kneeled before him and cried out, "Aye, it's true! I confess.....Our dear Rhaenys...and sweet little Aergon....they belong to your father.....they are not your children, but your half brother and sister."

Rheagar froze as his wife continued sobbing. Instant rage took him over for a moment, then he was struck by grief as he now knew what he had lost, the children who he loved since birth were not his son and daughter, but his brother and sister that were conceived by his father forcing himself on his wife like what the chamber maid had told the prince.

He looked at her, "....How long has this been going on, Elia?" he asked calmly.

Elia, with bloodshot eyes, looked up, "......Since we were married."

"....So Rhaenys wasn't conceived on our wedding night like I thought?"

"No..."

"..And what of Aergon?"

Elia frowned, "....He wasn't conceived on the night of the bleeding star, he was conceived the week before...he is not the prince that was promised like in the prophecy."

Rheagar felt his heart being crushed even more by his wife's confession, Elia got up and held his arm, "I had no choice my love! Your father forced himself on me! It's like how he boasted to have fornicated with Lord Tywin Lannister's wife Joanna! And he told me he would kill you and the children if I ever spoke a word! Please understand, I love you with all my heart and I never wanted to hurt you this way!"

Rheagar grabbed her hand and stare coldly at her, "....You still should have told me, I was your husband and if my father did hurt you I would have done something....yo should have been honest...especially since that bastard has fathered the children that should have been mine! And I had high hopes that Aergon was the promised prince who would lead Kings Landing and all the Seven kingdoms from my father's tyranny......but now he and his sister are the illegitimate Targaryen children, and their lives are now in grave danger because of the circumstances of their births....as Targaryen bastards....Blackfires...neither one of them can take the throne."

Elia sobbed once more, then Rheagar turned around and headed towards the door. Elia panicked, "Rheagar, where are you going!?"she cried.

"...I can't be here...not with you." Rheagar answered.

Elia gasped, "What! No Rheagar please don't go, I love you so much and I'm so sorry! Aergon can still be the prince to lead us to victory! Rhaenys and Aregon can still see you as their father and we can be happy together, your bloodline can live on because they see YOU as their father! Can you ever find it in your heart to forgive me!?"

Rheagar was silent for a moment. Elia's words went through his mind, their marriage was an arranged marriage but he knew Elia did love him even when he didn't feel the same for her. They did have their happy moments especially when Rhaenys and Aregon were born, he loved the children dearly. Rhaenys was a bright girl who loved standing by his side and Aergon, even though he was a baby, had bright eyes and always smiled and Rheagar loved him regardless of the prophecy or not.

But knowing that they are actually his siblings and they were fathered by his own father, he wasn't sure if he could look at them as his son or daughter again or when he looks into Aergon's eyes if they are either his or his fathers.

Rheagar touched Elia's cheek, "I forgive you......but the damage is done." and he walked out, while Elia cried once more.

Rheagar was filled with so much grief and hatred towards his father he wanted, no, he needed someone to talk to. That was when he decided to head to the castle where Lyanna Stark was at. She was a good listener, maybe she can help him out on his situation.

This makes the story of Rhaegar, Elia, and Lyanna even sadder, right?

I'd hate for this to be canon, but really read, and an eccentric concept to draw considering Asoiaf art is usually illustrations of the very definite things we know about RR and RR characters.

Same, of course we can't be to certain about anyone's character anymore. Rhaegar is called a rapist who kidnapped, raped and killed Lyanna, but now knowing they were lovers, it makes me question other characters as well, including Elia's because they say Rhaegar was more noble than Ned and there has to be more of a reason for him to leave her to.

We'll have to wait and see in season 7 and 8.

Tbh, I feel any well-liked man is called honorable as the equivalent to a woman being called beautiful, and most beautiful. I think the term can be so much more subjective than it seems, because obviously "honorable," has a truly technical definition, but there's plenty of cases made against Ned's honor for example, as everyone can be considered honorable and dishonorable in some ways. So, I don't just simply believe that Rhaegar was the kindred spirit, that was more caring than any whore, peasant, or lesser known/cared for Westerosi person we can't call a character. Probably overthinking, but what can we the reader say makes him the most honorable? We don't know him like we know the main characters.
Even if this really cool story was canon, and Elia was "dishonorable", in having an affair, I wouldn't love her any less. She was a very caring person, and always had a drive for adventure like Oberyn, but couldn't be what she wanted to be because of her debilitating illness, and many staying clear from her even while being a princess, because she was so sickly, and they felt they had to fragile around her & some probably feared for their own health, if they didn't know her and spend enough time for her for it to be clear it wasn't contagious. And branching off to her becoming Martell-Targaryen, joining the more default/conquering culture means they were probably more religious or spiritual towards the Seven Gods. And that means they could've believed she was being punished by the gods, for being inherently bad in some way. That's what we know is the general belief of "monsters," aka dwarves for example.
But like I said, it's exciting to see more unique interpretations of characters we don't know-know like Aerys, Rhaegar, & Elia. And I love anything Elia-related, so I'd be hyped if you made more Elia art. No pressure... 😉

That is very true. I thought about tinkering with a dark Elia Martell since because I believe Lyanna would never leave with a married man with children and she was to fierce to be taken hostage.

That's a good point that was she be very scared considering her culture and reputation, and just human decency--to run off with a man essentially abandoning his wife and children. But for all we know, Lyanna could've been very desperate if that were the case, or scared of really anything (hell, even something magical for all we know), and that lead her into his arms. Maybe, she really was kidnapped by him but he did it because he felt he had to die to his prophecy & he still treated her as good as possible, given the circumstances. So that wouldn't make either dishonorable, just not practically honorable either.

Thats what I love about GOT, it's not totally black or white when it comes to morals.

Yeah, always far from black and white. There's just no one to step away or forget about these characters in comparison to most mythology, fantasy, etc genres where it's the story that drives the characters, and the main story being what the readers love. It's totally the opposite here, in a concise enough way, every reader ends up pretty riveted.

Oh hell yes. I read a lot and Theon is the most relatable character to myself, of all time. The best part is that they're relatable and really deep ways as opposed to simply your personality.

I feel like I relate to Sansa and Arya a bit to.

Sansa is the second character I relate most with. But mostly it's understanding. I admire and straight up love her more than direct relating. But I feel confident in saying, she's really the everyman of the whole story so way more readers should click with more than they do. But whatever... And it's cool u said both Arya and Sansa, because out of every two characters u can compare to each other--those two really complete each other. They're very smart (street-smart vs emotionally intelligent, and fast learners), and their traits together make like the perfect human being. Passion meets compassion and they're some of the most empathetic towards strangers out of most the characters.

Okay, yeah I'm done ranting cause I gotta stop obsessing over this fictional ass characters for hours. This isn't tumblr
