Description This pic is just more or less a test-pic to see if I'm getting my scanner-settings right. I don't know if I'm going to leave it here at DevArt, or delete it later, but I need to upload it here to see if I'm getting things right. Once I know what to set my scanner-settings on, I can begin uploading more of my pics, including this one on a permanent basis. But I don't think I'm going to upload any more color pics til I get this darned scanner stuff hashed out. So enjoy this pic as long as I leave it here, peeps. That may not be long, though...........

Anywho.................

I'm sure you're curious as to who this "Annie" character is.

Three words: ANNOYING....LITTLE...SISTER.

Ann: *huffs* I am NOT annoying...*long pause*...well, not ALL the time....

whitewolf89 In reply to Mars-San [2005-04-13 03:57:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, yeah, naturally. But it's JAKE's annoying little sister, I take it.

*snickers* Lordy, do I know how THAT is! I have TWO of 'em. PLUS a little brother. But, given that their ages are 47 (my sister Terry), 39 (my baby sister Penny) and 29 (my little brother Bobby) respectively, they're NOT as annoying as they USED to be. Well, scratch that, my kid brother STILL is, but that's a different story entirely.

Jake should have to contend with my BMFM fancharacter, Whitewolf's (Wolf's) younger sibs, her kid brother, Torque, and her kid sister, Ebony. She loves them dearly, but, like MOST older sibs, could cheerfully strangle them both at times!

Peace.

Well, DUH!! I wouldn't have her be Chance's!

Poor you. I've got an older brother, who is a black belt, and he protects his littlest sister. True life Annie and Jake right there.

*chuckles* This is true.

And sometimes I DO wish that I had an older sib. But sometimes it's MORE fun being the eldest...something Jake and Leonardo of the Ninja Turtles can identify with, I think.

LOL Okay, I won't.

Sounds like you have a typical older bro...to the point that I think MY BMFM fan-char, Wolf, would agree with you. Throttle's HER older bro in my fanfics and art, and he can be a bit of an annoyance to her at times...even as much as she loves him.

whitewolf89 In reply to Mars-San [2005-04-15 04:23:32 +0000 UTC]

About older brothers? OH, yeah! She's the oldest girl in their family, but HE's THE oldest, period! And the thing that annoys her MOST about him is when he pulls his "overprotective big brother act", as she sometimes calls it. I'm going to bring that OUT more in my current BMFM/TMNT crossover fanfic. Mainly when I get Wolf together with Mikey, and they start comparing "younger sib" notes after a friend of Wolf's rescues him from some Purple Dragons punks and brings him to where she and her teammates are staying while in NYC. More later.

Peace.

I gotta check peoples scrap further on. It's so easily overlooked and one can miss a lot of interesting stuff.
This is great! Why are you thinking of removing it? Me wanna see more.

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-06 17:41:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you DO miss out on a lot of cool stuff if you over look the "Scraps" stuff. I know my buddy Tigerfog's is a perfect example. He has a good deal of his "MNT Gaiden Prologue" in his, although not ALL of it. Tha't pretty much why I try to get the "Scraps" submissions, as well as the REGULAR "Deviations" in my "Deviations" section, when I can.

If you're talikng about my pics of Jake and that one of Razor, I WAS thinking about it, as the one of Razor was a test pic to see if I was getting my scanner-skills right. But I think that I'm just going to leave it where it is, as a lot of folks (like you) seem to like it.

Now if I can just figure out HOW to get rid of those darned "JPEG artifacts"..............

Peace.

I checked his scraps too. Much pretty pics to drool over.

Yes, please keep them up. There needs to be more SK art.

jpeg-artifacts? What do you mean?

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-07 06:44:11 +0000 UTC]

This is soooo true. LOL I'm surprised that my keyboard hasn't shorted out, what with all the drooling that I do over his fantastic art.

Okay, I will. And I'm gonna get some added to them. Once I get off my lazy tush and get it done.

And I think they're the little fuzzy things that you find around certain jpeg pics; kinda like static. But I'm not sure.

Peace.

Isn't it when the resolution(?) of the pic is to bad? If you choose a higher resolution, (most of it) will go away.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-09 02:23:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it is. But if you scan them in at TOO high a resolution, the picture turns out to be ENORMOUS!!! And I don't have PhotoShop so I can resize them. But I gotta figure something out. My Galleries are just WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY the heck to bare at the monent! A situation that I hope to rectify SOON!

I FINALLY got my darned scanner after waiting for nearly THREE years! And I'm NOT going to just let it sit there and collect dust after THAT long a wait!

Peace.

shitzo In reply to whitewolf89 [2005-01-09 19:19:48 +0000 UTC]

Don't you have paint? Nothing worth using when coloring, but works just fine if you just wanna resize your pics.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-09 19:48:09 +0000 UTC]

If you mean MSPaint, yes. Although I never knew that you could use it for resizing; just coloring. I can't afford the newer versions of PhotoShop (like 7.0, or whatever the newest one is), but I found a copy of PhotoShop Elements (3.0, I think) at our local Wal-Mart Supercenter that looks pretty resonable in price. $70.00, or so. I guess that's an okay price.

Peace.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shitzo In reply to whitewolf89 [2005-01-09 20:11:45 +0000 UTC]

Yes, MSPaint. I've tried, and it works well. But not you want to improve things like contrasts and such. But that can probably be fixed by changing the scanner settings.

I've got Photoshop Elements and it works well. Most things you can do with photoshop you can do with the Elements version as well, but things are just relocated. (Veery frustrating if you go by tuturials and have the swedish version... )

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-09 20:56:43 +0000 UTC]

Cool. And I probably DO need to change the scanner settings. I've only had this thing since May of last year, and my sis said it would probably take me awhile to get it set up right, and get it to where I wanted it. It did her when she got hers, and she's TONS better with computer-related stuff than I am. And I admit that freely.

Thankies for the tip on PS Elements. I don't need anything really fancy; I just want a useable program where I can computer-color and what-not.

And relocated how? And where? I'm a total dunce when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'm good when it comes to drawing and hand-coloring stuff, and I can do the typing bit on the comp, but a lot of this stuff is kinda new to me, so bear with me, okay?

And I live in the U.S., so MY edition (WHEN I finally manage to get it) will be in Good Ol' English. I'm hopeless when it comes to ANY language BUT English. Well, I DO speak a BIT of Spanish, but that's all.

Peace.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shitzo In reply to whitewolf89 [2005-01-09 21:52:08 +0000 UTC]

Then PS Elements are really good. A lot of proffessional artists talks about Painter and Open Canvas, but I've been using Elements for several years and are still dicovering new methods to use it. And it's pretty easy to learn. I've got a handfull of links if you wanna have some great and simple tips.

I mean that the tools are located different from what the ordinary photoshop have. So if you want to follow a tutorial for photoshop, you'll probably have to dig a little. But don't expect to much trouble since you'll have the english version. And not to worry. If you can bear my english and errors in spelling, I defentetly have no problem with you asking what I mean with it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to shitzo [2005-01-09 22:28:17 +0000 UTC]

That's good enough for me, then. And I can use the links. I don't have the program yet, but I'll DEFINITELY want the help when I get it. So send any links that you have my way, if you would, please. You can e-mail 'em to me, or whatever way is easiest. Thankies in advance.

And I think I can do that. Dig for tutorials, I mean. ANY help that I can get will be appreciated.

And that's cool. Anybody who can put up with my Ozark Mountain typing and sayings is pretty cool in my book.

Peace.

I remember this series...... Can't remember it's name but it was two cats with like a junk palce and they made things like jets and stuff, right? They where masked heros in their city of cat people. lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to HybridFable [2004-12-29 06:15:56 +0000 UTC]

It was called "SWAT Kats, The Radical Squadron", and was on back in the early 90's (1993-1994, to be precise).

The two Kats in question (and no, I didn't spell that wrong; "Kat" was spelled wit a "k", rather than a "c") were Jake Clawson and his best friend, partner and pilot, Chance Furlong. They were a couple of ex-Enforcers (Megakat City's version of the police) who were kicked off the force for being insubordinate to their superior officer, Enforcer Commander Ulysses Feral, and got stuck running a junkyard that had a repair garage in it.

Long story short, Jake noticed that it was also a MILITARY salvage yard, and he got the idea to build their OWN jet out of the scrap, which they did, and the TurboKat was "born". They kept it, and their other SWAT Kats gear, in an underground hangar that they found right under the garage. In civilian life, they remained Jake Clawson and Chance Furlong, garage mechanics, but when danger threatened Megakat City, they became the high-flying vigilantes Razor and T-Bone. And yes, they wore masks to conceal their true identities; black hood/bandanna-masks similar to the ones worn by the Toddler Turtles in the new TMNT cartoon series.

Hope that helps.

Peace.

whitewolf89 In reply to HybridFable [2004-12-29 19:51:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know what you mean. It was one of my faves, too. I just wish that Cartoon Network would start running it again, like they did a few years back.

And I think I know what threw you about Razor in this pic. He ISN'T in his normal flight-suit because this is a concept that I had for a fanfic that I'm working on where he and T-Bone get tossed in to a slightly medievil (sp?)-type world. In fact, if you're at ALL familiar with the comic book "Elfquest", and it's host world. "The World of Two Moons"/"Abode", that's where I'm fixing to send them, or a world similar TO it. Hence the Elquest/Wolfrider-style leathers and the sword, instead of his normal flight-suit (you should see the one that I have drawn of T-Bone in a similar outfit, the COLOR cersion of which will be up here soon, along with the color version of this one).

Hope I cleared up the confusion some.

Peace.

I'm not familiar with Elfquest. lol

I went through your gallery and didn't see many images, so I'm thinking you're talking about a fanfic now?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to HybridFable [2004-12-29 22:18:14 +0000 UTC]

About Elfquest, no. That's a professionally-made comic book series owned and drawn by the wonderful artist and lady Wendy Pini and co-written by her huband, Richard Pini.

The fanfic concerning that pic of Razor in my "Scraps" gallery is mine.

And yeah, I KNOW there aren't many pics in EITHER of my Galleries. I hope to rectify that soon.

HybridFable In reply to whitewolf89 [2004-12-29 23:09:01 +0000 UTC]

No no, lol I know Elfquest isn't a fanfic. I was talking about you putting them Kats in the situaition you spoke of. I hope you're able to get more art in your gallery soon though, I like what I see. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whitewolf89 In reply to HybridFable [2004-12-29 23:19:43 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see. Ya gotta excuse me on some things. Just still coming down off of Christmas weekend, don'tcha know, so things are still just a bit giddy for me.

And yes, I am doing a fic where I send them to an Elfquest-like world. I got Chapter 1 started, then I just sort of stalled out. Got interested in the Ninja Turtles again (my obsessions tend to take turns with each other), and I've been doing more TMNT-related stuff that SWAT Kats. That's going to change soon, though. I've got a TON of miscellaneous stuff that I want to get put up here, some old some new. And I play in a LOT of different fandoms; Biker Mice From Mars, SWAT Kats, Ninja Turtles, Lion King; etc.; so there will be a LOT of different kinds of pics up here in BOTH of my Galleries soon.

Speaking of which, I've got a couple of Leonardo of the Ninja Turtles in a style that most folksd haven't seen before, so just be warned. I think it's cool, though, so I hope everybody else around here does, too.

Peace.

Yeah, that IS cool. hsincubic IS a very talented artist, and, since she's on my Friend's List, I saw this a little bit ago. VERY cool.

And I will more than likely have the Leo pic up in my Main Gallery in a day or two. I've got it scanned, and on my comp, so all I have to do is upload it. It might surprise you, and some others, though. It ISN'T your typical Leo pic. More an AU one, from a fanfic idea that I had that went south in favor of something else. But I liked it so well, and it looks so good (IMHO), that I couldn't NOT share it with my buds.
