"This doodle bag is the third of five in my holiday 2013 collection! It's made from an upcycled yellow canvas purse that has been completely covered with one-of-a-kind, hand drawn illustrations. I simply took some Sharpies and got to work. The theme of this bag is "Elf", the now DECADE old classic Christmas comedy starring Will Ferrell! The many colorful illustrations follow Buddy the Elf on his journey to the magical land of New York City to find his biological father and save Christmas. I've drawn portraits of several of the main characters and memorable scenes from the film, including the corresponding movie quotes. Although everybody knows that the BEST way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear, this cheerful yellow bag might also do the trick! Due to the color and texture of this particular canvas fabric the illustrations came out looking a bit like they were done with crayons, which I think is a pretty happy accident. What could be more happy and cheerful after all than Will Ferrell's grinning face in an elf suit? Not a whole lot. You would have to be a cotton-headed ninnymuggins to disagree.

This yellow canvas messenger-bag style purse is about 9 1/2" wide and the same sunny shade of an elf's tights! Judging by the unique stitching and lack of tag on the inside, this bag was made by hand with lots of love. This makes it an extra one-of-a-kind item just like Buddy! This purse has an extra long strap (see last photo) and sweet decorative white zigzag stitching that reminds me of the designs on Buddy's elf clothes. The front flap fastens with a shiny silver snap and there is one large yellow and white pocket on the inside. This is the only Elf bag I have ever made and will ever make. I rarely duplicate themes when I make these bags and no two bags are ever alike. My doodle bags are completely one-off and one of a kind, making them the perfect unique gift! Whenever I have made them for my friends as gifts in the past they always would get tons of compliments whenever they would wear them out. The illustrations are quite durable and will last as long as the bag does if you use common sense. Getting caught in the rain with a doodle bag is fine, but I would stick to hand washing or spot washing if it gets really dirty just to stay on the safe side (no chemicals.) This purse comes signed by me on the inside, along with the name of my Etsy store if anyone asks you where you got it…and you know they will."
