This is a commissioned group dog portrait that I painted last month. The painting was to be a wedding present for the dog-loving bride to be. All three dogs were rescue animals owned by the bride at some point in her life. The lady that commissioned the portrait was able to give me a brief description of each dog's personality, which I tried my best to incorporate in this painting through their pose, facial expression, or accessories. The chihuahua-thing was blind yet feisty, the pug was fairly unladylike, and the doberman always tried to run away, even after he had to have a leg amputated. There is a bee in the painting because the bride was going to have a shabby chic wedding and had bees on her invitations. It was a challenge to work all of that visual information into this painting but I had a lot of fun with this one. It's acrylic on a 24"x30" canvas, by the way.
