Description I'm aware that promethium fumes are unlikely to have any great impact on a primarch but I guess there's no harm in trying.

This one has been on my to-do list for about the last month although it feels weird to do one that doesn't have the Emperor in it. I did mention that the next one would contain Horus but decided to wait off on that one for a while, although I wasn't intending these to have any firm continuity I'd prefer to do all the pre-'Horus gets stabbed with a magic sword by a fat bloke' events first, then get onto the heretical stuff.

Also, what did you guys think of the novel Fulgrim? It seems to be one of those novels that divides, people seem to either love it or hate it. For the record I quite liked it, one of the better Heresy books in my opinion.

I enjoyed Fulgrim, thus far one of my favorite books in the Horus Heresy series - though I'm only on book 12 right now. Β It's the pure arrogance of the Primarchs which lead to their downfall; their certainty that they are above the petty concerns of things like corruption that leads them to their doom. Β Fulgrim sheds an interesting light on the events that occur in book 3, "Galaxy in Flames" and actually seals up some of the plot holes in that previous work. Β Graham McNeill has been one of my favorite authors in the series thus far.Β

Honestly, i almost cried reading Fulgrim, i've never experienced anything like the betrayal. Fulgrim was a pretty cool dude and it was painful seeing his downfall but knowing full well it was coming

The Fulgrim Novel did have some good morsels of background and characters like Fabius Bile, Ferrus Manus, Fulgrim, the betrayal on istavaan 5 and the death of Ferrusmanus.
Although the book is like 500 pages, the last 200 are good IMO. I'd say the book is ok, but Mechanicum and a thousand sons are a lot better novels.

My favourite book in the series. I kept reading double entendres into pretty much everything, though. So I laughed through most of the book.
Fulgrim would be my second favourite primarch, after Magnus.

Also (though I stole this from someone else) "Hey, girls can't be space marin... Oh, hi Fulgrim."

I found this very amusing. I recently got my brother & his roomate interested in starting 40k armies & by sheer coincidence they picked Iron Hands & Emperor's Children as their armies. So we've been reading up on the lore and recently read the story of how the Primarch of the Iron Hands was killed by Fulgrim & all that.

It was good, there's no denying it. I still miss Garro. And Loken. Hopefully, they'll both be back soon with the first Grey Knights...
Anyway. Fulgrim seems to be turned a bit... too easely. I mean, he's a bloody Primarch damnit! At least, he regained his senses in the end...Sort of.

And I think Fulgrim is one of the better novels in the Horus Heresy series (no surprise since it was written by Graham McNeill )
It's just sad you don't get to read much about the Iron Hands or Ferrus Manus. I hope there'll be a book about them too someday

Having just read Deliverance Lost I'm feeling oddly well disposed to him, if he ends up in one of these I'd try to avoid him looking too much like The Crow, as much as is possible at any rate.

I love the comic, but loathed the novel, for exactly the reason in the comic. Fulgrim, though vainglorious, was not dumb as a brick and that is how he comes off when picking up the sword of Laer and even more so when he listens to the voices in his head.

McNeill has had prouder moments, imho.

These comics are great by the way, would like to see something about Garviel Loken, or Argel Tal, both are great astrates characters with actual character

Thanks I've toyed with the idea of using some of the named characters from the books but I think i'd rather stick to the broader story, which mostly revolves around the primarchs.

Saying that, I can totally see Erebus making an appearance at some point.

Well, it clearly demonstrates Fulgrim didn't read enough books. If he had, he'd have known a talking sword is a bad thing.
