A great start! However, her left arm has some issues, her legs wouldn't support her weight and to show weight and gravity, her breasts should be tilted with the rest of her body. I'd love it if no matter what angle I was on my breasts stayed dead centre, alas... gravity. Love the theme, though.

The Egyptian sphinx is male, yes. The Greek sphinx is female.

Well, on the other hand, often religious details, legends for folklore and various superstition gets transfered in other cultures.
And this little Sphinx definitely looks better as a girl
