I've drawn a ton of Dexter's Lab fanart over the last 6 (!) years, but I've only occasionally attempted to draw any fanart in my own personal style. The last time I drew these two crazy kids was in 2013, but that was more of a Disney-ish attempt - so before I drew fanart for any other fandoms, I decided to tackle Dexter and Dee Dee to see if I could capture their personalities in a different style. It wasn't easy to translate their super-stylized toon versions into something more realistic, but I'm pleased with the results - I think I'll have to make this a habit!

this is cool, but could you make Dexter's lab coat fit?

In the show Dex wears a Howie lab coat which is realistically a bit oversized, and hits at calf length. It's like Dr. Horrible's lab coat.

And there she is.
Out of all the characters, Dee-Dee presents the biggest challenge for sure.
(I went and looked at a few dozen images, just to check, and OMG she is bizarre in the extreme! Sometimes her arms come out of her chin, other times out the bottom of her skirt! ...) She looks like someone who is constantly falling into a tiny black-hole.
Anyway, props to you. You did it. To my eye she don't look right - it's the big chin you gave her. Yup -that's your style, I'm just quibbling. Dee-Dee in cartoon form seems to be quite the 'chinless wonder' to my eye.
