You know, I never noticed this before, but the shoes General P. is wearing kind of looks like a hybrid between a sneaker and a combat boot. That's brilliant, just brilliant. It really does seem like the sort of military-esque casual wear that's both completely odd for a normal person yet fits the General so well.

Maybe, but it does make sense in way. Typurans are supposed to dominate the culture of the UPI, and they are a very militaristic people, so it makes sense that any garments produced in the UPI would follow the design logic of "How well would this preform under fire?" which would lead to things like sneakers that look like combat boots.
So yes, I think it's brilliant. In fact, it was so brilliant that you outsmarted even yourself.
