Actually a Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina) Nice photo - he looks gnarly!

I know, and so many people have said that, but he is an Alligator Snapper, he was very small, but he had all the tail and shell spikes and everything. Plus I've found 40+ pound Alligator Snappers in the ponds.

Nope. Nada. That animal is most definetly NOT an Alligator Snapper. You can keep on thinking that it was, and saying it was, but a brief search of inages should make the differance in the 2 species quite obvious. Even the juveniles are quite different from each other.
