My entry for 's contest: designing a Sword Spirit! This was really fun to draw, and I love this colour scheme. I hope you like it!

Name: Fortale [fawr-teyl]

Housing Sword: Phantom Ganon's Sword/Beast's Blade [link]

Origin Story/Background: After the events of Ocarina of Time, Fortale was forged by the blacksmiths Zubora and Gabora, whose names can be read on the blade of the sword, in the Mountain Smithy of Snowhead. At first, he was not given a defined purpose as a sword, and was just another blade with no conscience. But after Ganondorf's return and during the time Hyrule was flooded, Ganondorf created a new Phantom Ganon, and gave him the Beast's Blade to wield. Fortale was born from the magic and evil of Phantom Ganon and his master, and served them both in the Forsaken Fortress. Due to the lack of activity in the fortress, he was not used often, and mostly wandered around in his humanoid form.

Appearance: Originally, the Beast's Blade had a different appearance, but it was not until it was tainted by dark magic that Fortale was created as the sword's conscience. He shares simmilar phisical traits with Phantom Ganon, due to have been created with the same magic.

Abilities: As most, if not all Sword Spirits, Fortale is able to use powerful magic, as well as teleport and transform into his sword form. Also, he can be summoned by Phantom Ganon at any time, as he does when he drops the sword.

Personality: Despite serving the Dark Lord, Fortale was not originally created for that purpose. Therefore, he does not feel complied fight his enemies for Ganondorf's sake, and prefers to do so out of interest and fun. He loves riddles and playing tricks on humans, and he might even help trespassers if they prove to be good enough. An example of this is when Link is in the Illusionary Room ([link] ) of Ganon's Tower, where he repeatedly defeats Phantom Ganon, who drops his sword every time. His sword falls in a spethific angle, pointing in the correct direction that Link must follow to get through the maze. Fortale is highly conceited and egoistic, and often disdainful of authority. He almost always has a wide grin plastered across his face, and loves displaying his powers and making fun of lesser individuals.
