Description
The Minas facility is also responsible for the testing of much larger craft including several types of cruiser. They are directly responsible for the introduction of the Payara class assault vessel's transphase drive disruption towers mounted on it's bow.

Minas itself is a small white dwarf star surrounded by a thick debris field that is almost impossible to safely navigate save for a small opening dubbed the Gap of Rohan. The gap itself is difficult to navigate and near impossible for larger vessels. Inside the debris field are the orbits of three planets. Tirith, Ithil and Morgul.

The field itself is made up of the remains of a large imperial fleet sent to defend the Minas system from an attack by an unkown but highly aggressive alien species. The aliens had advanced and strange seemingly organic ships and weaponry and made short work of many imperial vessels. Their intentions remain unknown but of the three worlds they managed to successfully 'infect' one with some kind of semi-organic spores that spread across the planet like a series of giant black tentacles absorbing all life and technology in their path.

The planet was named 'Morgul' and the Ithil facility orbits above this corrupted world.

The battle itself eventually came to a head when the cruiser IAC Narsil rammed what appeared to be the alien flagship doing significant damage to both ships in the process. This caused the alien attackers to withdraw and since that time the Tirith facility has been rebuilding the Narsil with newer and more advanced technology renaming it XIAC Anduril. The ship itself features beam and particle cannons that are not currently featured on standard imperial vessels and a form of advanced rift drive known as a 'Flash Rift' that allows for a more instantaneous drop into hyperspace compared to the current drives.

Anduril now serves as a testbed and protector of the Minas facility under the command of the Avian tank Alyssa Mythrandyr.
