Description
i cannot stress enough that this is NOT Zwilt the Shade. Xeoth is infact a original character. the Pose may be the same, but the overall image is not meant to be the same.Related content

Overall this is nice. The coloring is very nice and I like the background very nice. However, it looks WAY to much like Zwilt the Shade and it is very obvious that you saw a picture of Swilt the Shade in the Sable Quean, traced it, and colored it. The problem with this art piece is that it lootuch like Zwilt the Shade.
The originality of this piece isn't very good either, as I said before it looks traced from the book.
The vision is nice though, don't get me wrong there! He does look like a sinister pine marten and a good character e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Technique is ok. I only gave it 3 stars because the line art is a little shakey and the colors look like they were chosen without thinking. It seems like this piece was done in a hurry.
Impact on this is low. I gave it a star. I would've given it more stars if maybe there was some blood on the daggers, to make it seem like he just killed someone. Then that would be a great impact.
Overall its an 'OK' Redwall art piece. I suggest that you take your time with the line art, because this ensures a good piece of art work. And as I said before, this looks like it has been traced from The Sable Quean, because in one of these chapters, it shows Zwilt in the exact same pose. Perhaps study Zwilt and draw Xeoth in a different pose. The coloring is OK I guess, but perhaps a dark red cape would bring out the silvery grey ruffles at his neck more than a drab green. And perhaps make the belt black.
I'm not trying to be rude or mean. I am just pointing out a few things in the piece so I ask you not to take this the wrong way. But, it looks traced, the line art is shaky, and the colors really do not correspond with each other very well. I will however give you credit on the name. Xeoth is very creative e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

i dont really see how i could trace something that small and make it so large in comparison to the illustration in the book. Truth is, i just looked at the original illustration while i drew this.
I do agree with you on every other point though. I look back at this piece and think, "why the hell did even submit this crap?" And I feel like I have far surpassed my art from that point in time in originality and technique. I used to rush through my work, but now that I am using a different program for my art, I actually enjoy taking my time and working with lines, colors, and shading. This piece was an outright abortion in my opinion, and I'm actually genuinely surprised that you even took time to look at it for more that a second.
So I appreciate the critique, but I really don't think this ancient piece even deserved a second glance.

Nice work, and I LOVE the coloring! Did you use Photoshop? And did you do the background yourself or did you use a pre-made background?

sables are completely back or dark brown, ferrets have mask, sables are usually bigger...
