it is indeed a modified version of the Centurion chassis.
The turret can be armed with either LIW's GT8 105mm or an LIW 120mm smoothbore gun and features periscopic stabilised day / thermal gunner's sight with laser rangefinder.Β
A total of 68 rounds for the main gun are carried inside the vehicle.Β Β Β Olifant Mk.2 Β is a further upgrade of the Mk.1B, fitted with new target detection and engagement system. The engine was uprated to 1 040 hp.

Well I must say its a good tank design meant to defend against regional threats and I doubt any foe of South Africa will show up to a fight with a Leo2.
