Description Photo manipulation practice... As far as photomanips go, it could certainly use some improvement, but I had fun with it regardless. The lighting on the hand was the hardest to do, but I like how it turned out (despite how inaccurate it is). Critiques/advice are welcome.

I think this is my favourite of the two. It looks exciting. I can hear the fire whooshing in my head.

Yeah despite the fact that the other one took more work, this one did end up better. Mainly I think the fire stock itself is what did it, since it was easy to work with compared to the water. But that's the fun in doing photo manipulations I suppose... Combining others art with what's in your head

I am myself a mediocre photo manipulator, and I can't say I'd do any better, but I would like to point out a few small things that might help the realism. First, the lighting on the three fingers in the middle is a little too strong. It almost looks like overexposed film. Also, the lighting on the wrist takes away from the focus, which is the flame (obviously). I would try to see if there's some way to neutralize that. And last, I would try to get a more refined edge towards the bottom of the flame, maybe not such a soft feel, at least until higher up on it.

Just some constructive criticism, I know it's not easy to make a picture perfect with something like this. Great job though, I do love it!

I appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback And you're right about the light... I used the render light effect, but with a negative version of the original image; the reason for it was to try and neutralize the original shadowing... which kinda worked, at the cost of making the back fingers look like they themselves were glowing Thinking on it though, I might be able to do the same thing, but perhaps centralize it on the palm instead, then use normal lighting for the rest of it. And yeah... that's something I didn't realize until you mentioned it, I probably should have found a way to neutralize the lighting on the rest of it as well (wrist/arm), since it does distract from the flame.

Mostly I think it'll take quite a bit of experimenting, but despite the frustration, that's also the fun part . Thanks again
