Michael Schumacher, my favourite Formula One driver ever, who has returned to F1 this year after 3 year hiatus, in the age of 41.

I started watching Formula 1 consciously in 1998, with Monaco Grand Prix. I became a fan of this racing series immediately. On that Grand-Prix Schumi finished last, 2 laps behind the leader and his overall performance on that race was absolutely terrible. But he won the next Grand Prix in brilliant style, and I was his ardent supporter even before the race was over. Five champion titles later (plus another two before I started watching F1, making it seven in total - a record which won't be beaten any time soon, if ever ) Michael announced that he would retire from racing after 2006 season, which made me quite depressed for a while. Since then watching Formula 1 never brought me so much excitement as when Schumi was still on the track, even though there were a lot of very interesting races and battles for the title. But i just couldn't find another favourite racer, who would replace Schumi in my heart.

And now he came back. Now I'm am almost as much excited at the beginning of every race, as I was 12 years ago. Though so far Michael's performance isn't as good as I hoped it would be. No, I didn't expect miracles and immediate victory, but subconsciously that thought was always present. And I definitely hoped that he would finish on the podium or at least would beat his team-mate. No luck so far, but the season has just started. I believe that Schumi will still show what he can do!
