Done.I know that there are issues… all of which I want to address and correct in CG Holmes v2. But as this version stands and was available and had it’s keys animated, I decided to at least bring it to some final rendered state, despite the inaccurate rig and broken shoulder. xD
All of this is a first for me, as I haven't worked in CG before... so I am happy and proud of this despite all it’s faults. :3
This is of course Clive Merrison as Sherlock Holmes, from the BBC Radio Adaptations. Don’t you think the design and his voice go well together?
And … how awesome would it be to have the episodes be accompanied by animation?

Oh dear, I can't really quite tell. I worked a few hours every day on it for some time, then had some breaks, then some more work on it etc... I can imagine, with all the research and the tutorial vids I surely worked a month fulltime on it. As said, all the rigging was new to me and it wasn't just a simple "auto-rig" thing so that took a long time to really get working.

Actually, those simple dot eyes were one of the most complicated things I did. But where there is no challenge there is no success... I'm happy with the results for now but will definitely think of something better next time. There isn't yet enough expression in them, I'd have liked to make them be more Peanut style...

How did you animate this? A close friend of mine is looking into animation programs

I used Blender for the whole process. It's really good and free, too. A worthy alternative for those expensive paid for software.

I love it so much! Especially when he's laughing. I've found that animating laughter is hard to do right and you nailed it while keeping your characteristic style intact! Great work!
