Description *moving to Scraps later

It's been so long since I've done any art that I forgot how bad/badly it needed improvement XD, and so I became frustrated once I started again. So I'm making watercolor charts to get myself used to seeing paints again.

I bought a mini set of Marie's watercolors last year, and I just now, almost exactly a full year later, have finally started making a color chart for it. I've never worked with Chinese or any other Asian paints before, but I've frequently read how they are different. Since I had just made a chart for Schmincke, there were some differences I noticed. I was mainly looking for opaqueness in the Marie's, which was often mentioned, and they did have a noticeable zinc-y opaqueness to them, but I also saw how there was no real  granulation. The major surprise for me, though, was how well and unexpected the colors blended with one another! The way the reds and blues blended produced colors that I wouldn't anticipate if I was using another watercolor palette.

I also read how these paints shouldn't be used on Western watercolor paper, so I'm thinking if I maybe shouldn't make another chart or on rice paper as well...
