Windows 2000 is just called 2000, and he wasn't always the grumpy system we see today. When he was first released, he was one of the most loyal systems alongside Finn (Windows 95) but he just felt he wasn't special enough, so he told Bill about his problem, and he made what he called an era-catalyst (based off of Tracer's chronal accelerator from Overwatch) and after a few tries, the machine broke, and he got lost in time, when he finally reappeared, he disappeared after a minute or two, but he couldn't touch, feel, or even speak, so when he reappeared, Bill recreated the catalyst, and he was finally living again, but as time went on, he became more and more sour because nobody felt what it was like for him, so eventually, he became really sour. But when Windows ME was released, he began to defend her, and the two became an item.
