Description

Many stories have been told about heroes who save the world, ever since mankind can think. Yet, there was never the actually any need for a real version of those heroes, because the world as a whole was safe.
But in our age, the whole world is literally in danger. Global warming and the pollution of air, water and nature has lead to a mass extinction of species, comparable to the time when the Dinosaurs disappeared. The amount of living vertebrates has reduced by 60% between 1970 and 2014. If this continues, the world, as we know it, will end.

And that's why it's time for us, to become the heroes who save this world - for the sake of us and all who come after us.
It's our choice how future generations will remember us!! Let's be their heroes! Let us be the people who save the world - for real!

What can you do to be a hero?

- plant trees

- plant insect friendly flowers

- reduce your consumption of plastic, oil and gas

- reduce your consumption of animal products

- buy regional and seasonal products

- avoid and separate waste as much as you can

- teach others

This drawing is part of a new art series and a personal project. I started creating this project, because I am convinced, that art wields the power to bring people together and stand up to make a change. I just can't sit by and watch anymore as this world keeps dying. Let's all stand and fight together for a brighter tomorrow!

They found a LOT of methane gas trapped underneath the permafrost in Russia, and that permafrost is melting. This gas is even worse than CO2, almost ten times worse. So we're gonna have an even bigger problem on the greenhouse effect as soon as that time-bomb blows up. Things will heat up super fast, to super high temperatures.

And as soon as both ice caps in the North and South have melted completely, the sea currents will stop. Because you need both warm water and cold water to create a cycle of movement.

No sea current means no food being transported for animals, plants and bacteria to eat. Meaning that creatures like plankton, which produce a lot of oxygen, will die too. Plankton produce more oxygen than most trees, since the sea is larger than the land. The rest of sea creatures is already dying by small temperature changes alone, like corals. Not to mention the consequences by the toxic garbage we humans throw into the sea every fucking second.

Honestly, I've lost hope that we can stop this. We can only slow things down. We're wayyyy past the point of no return, the way things are now. What I do now won't stop the damage already done. I feel like squirting a water pistol at a burning skyscraper, and telling others to keep squirting too- while watching many others throw galons of gasoline instead.

The only thing that would stop this whole catastrophe in time would be for at least 3/4 of the human population to magically disappear within a short time. No chance of that happening, no sicknesses nor wars have stopped us so far. The only way for the planet to get rid of us is to stop the production of oxygen as a whole, apparently.

All other attempts of nature to get our species in a healthy balance with the rest of the world have failed. So total destruction of the species it is.

Scientists say there was already one or two times on this planet when this happened, when everything was hot desert and barely any oxygen to breathe. And yet life found a way again. Oxygen was produced again.

This is my hope. The planet badly needs a new start. Without us. We were a big mistake as a species.

By the way, so far I've planted 10 oak trees and plan to plant more. At least 100. But what is the proof that the trees will even outlive me? How will my trees be safe from people cutting them down for profit, or because oak trees are not "allowed" where I planted them by forester rules? It's not even LEGAL for me to plant trees because I'm not a forester working for the government. Everything is under their control, including forests and trees. They won't be happy to find out there are trees that go against their plans.

It's fucking depressing. But I want to die knowing that I tried planting trees. Maybe accidents happen and my trees do get to grow old and strong.

Oak trees can become between 500 and 1000 years old. But they grow slowly; for example mine were hand-sized after a year. (That's a general rule on trees, by the way: Grows slowly, can reach an ancient age. Grows quickly, dies early.) However, oak trees have deep roots, which makes them safe from storms. Some oaks can even survive a fire, because their wood is very tough, not soft.

Oaks are awesome trees to start with, when planting trees. Start strong.

I saw this one on Discord but the chat progressed while I was away. Beautiful, and beautifully sad. I like the cool, close to pure blues in the background - it captures the emotions better and puts the focus where it needs to be. :3

This is what I call,a drawing. You made an ideal drawing which is supposed not only to show beauty of art,but also spread the important message which needs to bang on political idiots' heads.Thank you for drawing this on behalf of our nature
They said by 2050 if we dun change our current lifestyle, there will be more trash than fish which will subsequently be in our bodies. However, given the situation jn,such situation will prob happen ltr than usual.I believe that environment will be much better if there won't be ignorant humans around....

I recently heard/read something that humanity had in his history a so large share of apocalyptic-/end-time-stories of any kind that they are now too blind to realize that they are now in some kind of real version of them.

Your painting is grandious and your words are good written.

I think so.

Hm, another point to add to your "to-do-list" Buy more stuff at your local stores and less via Amazon and Co. (less packing material and CO2 emissions due to transport)

I couldn’t agree more with everything you’re saying. We NEED to step up and save our planet, before it’s too late, not just for plants and animals, but for US too.

would you mind if I shared this in a status? I think this has a really powerful message that needs to be spread
