woah wtf o___O i havnt been updating DA in ages and wtf XD o___O
(yes wtf describes my feeling rite now pretty well o__O)
umm this was like two years ago when only a few of my friends watched me, so the artist comment i wrote was some sort of journal entry thing to share a little rant among my friends.
so if the other person got bashed because of a lil rant of mine 2 years ago im really sorry >_____<
but well, for those who has watched my since ages ago (u probably already know XD) i kept drawing after this and actually got into an art school o_O like, yes, wtf.
my mom was surprisingly indulgent of me, which was, surprising XD
so yah, for those who are like "zomg poor u" im actually quite well rite now. <3 thx for the support though <3

...I can't really say what the contest was for, but I don't think the girl who won should have. I bet they won for the nudity. -_-+
To pick out the flaws of the winner: Very large head, very stiff pose, a very oddly drawn and out of place breast, and unaturally long femurs. Yes, the sakura were pretty, but that shouldn't determine the winner.
Honestly, your piece looks like much more work and heart were put into it, not to mention it's very romantic.

I can't believe you lost to her! You should never say you can't draw. The judge must not have been looking at yours close enough. This has so much detail it's amazing! So amazing in fact, that I am going to fave it!

yours is SO much better. yours has a better color scheme, a better composition (like the other one had any), better details (BY FAR), and an angle/use of perspective that shows you know more about drawing than that other person does. plus your shading and bg are way better.
so don't feel bad about it! your pic is great no matter what some stupid competition said.

Between the two, I would definately say this is the better piece. Not only are the mechanics better, but the over all tone and emotion is more powerful. The eyes are fabulous, they have a very soft almost watery look to them, and the eyelashes are done in perfect harmony with them. Congradulations on this piece, I really do love her expression. The only thing on this that I can find questionable, is the position of her upper arm. But being one who sits comfortably in weird ways, I know its a possible one.
