woah wtf o___O i havnt been updating DA in ages and wtf XD o___O
(yes wtf describes my feeling rite now pretty well o__O)
umm this was like two years ago when only a few of my friends watched me, so the artist comment i wrote was some sort of journal entry thing to share a little rant among my friends.
so if the other person got bashed because of a lil rant of mine 2 years ago im really sorry >_____<
but well, for those who has watched my since ages ago (u probably already know XD) i kept drawing after this and actually got into an art school o_O like, yes, wtf.
my mom was surprisingly indulgent of me, which was, surprising XD
so yah, for those who are like "zomg poor u" im actually quite well rite now. <3 thx for the support though <3

Honestly, anyone telling you that you can't draw is completely and utterly incorrect. This piece is beautiful, and the different colors mingle in a very regal way.

I looked at the link and your pic has a lot more detail and is better.... Your not the only one who can scold herself so much it makes you cry.... I do the same thing. nah, my mom is just like any other asian mother XD if her kid is not in med school she's not happy.
but she let me go to art school, which is really cool of her. I'm in second year now <3

Mmn. I'll have to agree; I have no clue how this lost to that painting. From an anatomical standpoint, the other's is far too stiff, while this character looks much more natural and relaxed. She looks more human, while the other looks more doll-like.
Also, from a design point of view, this is much more easier to look at and it has a nicer flow, instead of all the darkness and then the WHIIIIIITE of the figure in the other painting. The paleness smacks you in the face, and (I really don't intend to sound mean) it's really harsh on the eyes.
Don't get me wrong, both pictures have their strong points, but if I were the judge of this contest, this would've been my pick, hands down. Sorry that you lost.

Man....sorry to hear about your loss. This is such a beautiful composition, the expression on her face is so well done, full of haunting amusment with a depth that's hard to capture on paper. Well done!

it really isnt that much of a big deal anymore XD at the time it seems to be because i got like a million other problems irl.
I mean, it was grade 11, and i was basically deciding my future career and stuff.
now im all better <3 thanx for the ribbon! *huggles and hangs the ribbon up*

Um, I don't like comparing work, but the picture you lost to pales in comparison to yours.
Your's has so much more depth and emotion - I can tell what she's feeling, hell - I can feel it myself. Her hair and face are so beautiful, I simply can't believe you didn't win.

I don't know how you lost. Look at how many favorites you got! 300+!!!! The most I've ever gotten was 6. You did a great job on the detail and it contrasts well with the background. You have talent. Anyone who tells you otherwise should be ashamed of themselves.

... this is probably the 100th comment but damn comparing the two pieces the fact yours didn't place is a little depressing. I feel MORE from your piece than the others, its nice, but there are things (like that BOOB) that seem so... out of place. Seems like the character is meant to be... elegant? But... who knows. I'm not on GoGaia, shan't ever be (especially with crap like that!).
Good luck though, its a pretty image overall. Hell you can make it someone of your own now!
