One of the "primary" civilizations of the Milky Way Galaxy, such that their biology, physiology and culture are oft utilized as a standard/average for comparison. Terrans are widely considered a (by their own terminology) "jack of all trades" race; they can be found in virtually any profession and application throughout the galaxy, whether be it civilian, military or criminal oriented. They are spacers, explorers, mercenaries, merchants, soldiers, assassins, farmers, manufacturers and, of course, pirates. In fact, it is the image of the Ancient Terran seafaring pirate (nominally those that operated within Terra's Caribbean Sea) that any and all modern day pirates emulate, up to and including the usage of the Jolly Roger as their standard. Due to these factors, and several others (namely through the great expansionism of their Empire), Terrans hold a heavy influence over other societies and cultures (even those of non-humanoid bearing), with many a civilization being directly or indirectly affected by them.
