About:

Ruby is a very straight forward and loud type of squid, she doesn’t really think before she speaks. However, her intentions is not to hurt others but just speak her mind clearly. When it comes to social situations Ruby has a difficult time with social ques, basically socially oblivious. In most situations she would be socially awkward but still acts positively as if she understands what’s going on. Ruby loves to skate and blade at Rio Tokiyaki, but she falls and hurts herself a lot but is a tough squid and doesn’t mind the cuts and bruises, nothing some band-aids can’t fix!

Being friends with Ruby isn’t too hard, she is loud, enjoys terrible jokes, being fresh, and eats like a whale. Not having many friends due to her loud, expressive, and slightly obnoxious personality. She doesn’t mind as much because her heart is at battling or working for Grizzco. However, the inklings or octolings that do manage to keep up good relationship with Ruby means a lot to her. Willing to always be by your side or to be there for you when needed. She values loyalty very much, whether it would be between her squad and friends as well. Be careful what you say to Ruby or her friends because she will take almost anything with a grain of salt. Ranging from “You should go home and rest” to “maybe you should change your weapon”. Being very short tempered and aggressive she isn't afraid to throw down physically with anyone or call someone out, even during a battle, working for Grizz, or even in the middle of the battle plaza. Ruby normally regrets getting into those confrontational fights with others and wishes to apologize after, but her stubbornness and prevents her from doing so.

Ruby is always eager and passionate about what she does and it’s constantly either working for Grizzco or practicing her skills in turf. Her Major flaw is that she is not as focused on playing the objective when it comes to ranked and turf but rather focuses on splats a lot more. She would be willing to give up overtime to get an extra splat or two. Ruby will have a big and smug smile when winning any game modes and admiring the number of splats she has at the end, regardless if she has won or lost. As a battler and doesn’t mind getting splatted whether it would be from sniped, falling through grates, or being swarmed by Chum. Her eagerness for splats will always have her charging (not inking spawn) into battle despite it being a 1 vs 4 or being the only survivor in salmon run. Ruby knows she needs to work on being more of a team, but her passion and impulsiveness in sending her foes to spawn gets the better of her.

Bio:

Growing up a little ways east from Rio Tokiyaki. Ruby didn’t get along with many when growing up due to her aggressive and short-tempered attitude. Her parents are rarely home due to them constantly being busy from business trips or vacations without Ruby. As of now Ruby’s caretaker is her older sister (Koray) who lives elsewhere and comes to check in with Ruby with calls or physically around once a month. With her parents away, older sister busy with her own life, and having no friends as a child. Ruby felt out of place and lonely without anyone by her side while growing up, which is why she values friendship and loyalty to this day. Ruby doesn’t want to abandon anyone of her new friends as to what her family did to her as a child. When growing up Ruby has always been interested in loved watching turf wars, splat zones, tower control, rainmaker, and squids on the field working for Grizz through TV or social media. When finally becoming old enough Ruby set off to pursue her passion and immediately started participating in turf wars and working for Grizz. She would always be excited to wake up bright and early and arrive before the shops open to get herself ready for a day of splatting. Excited to meet many new squids and octolings, Ruby felt like this is her way to escape her neglectful family to focus on herself. Finding others who genuinely care for her as well as building a new life and memories with others. Her end goal is to find a squadron of squids / octolings in which she could call a family of her own. Arriving in Rio Tokiyaki is a fresh start for Ruby.
